My default sound fiiles from the old days are gone?

Bit of a left-field suggestion, could we re-use the AH2 sounds made by Mitsu, I'm looking at them now, they're all .wav format.

Now, there would be some aircraft that didn't exist back then that would need new sounds, and we'd need to credit Mitsu for his work on the orig files, but I don't think he'd mind, afaik he hasn't played in 10+ years.

Ya, back in the day I used his ,and other's, files at times too. I may still have them myself on another PC drive. Pretty sure I have my own old AH files. But ya, unless there is a major breakthrough on Chalenge's it seems it would only make sense to acquire other files any way possible. The problem I had with past packs is people would mismatch them with planes they didn't have files for. So provable authenticity is an issue. The only way I truly know they are authentic to a specific AC is to get them myself, or help from others getting them. So far I haven''t heard back from FMOD people to see if there is something I can do with Chalenge's  bank files. It's just feeling fubar.

I still have a copy of the sound package I used in AH2, I believe it was Twinbooms set. If you want I can send you a zip file, of course I am assuming he wouldn't mind.

Ya, I found that the same time I was thinking about it.  I have s problem starting any huge project lime that while the game is in seemingly limbo. His files would have made it a short one

Maybe when I retire I'll take it up again. But I'd have to start from scratch. Challenger's files needed to be re-worked. When talking about 120 planes and vehicles that's a lot of sounds to get right. The problem with recording the real thing is ya get sounds that don't belong that make loops hard to do. I think some of the explosions files MAY still be mine, not sure about planes, some sound familiar. I remember getting the 190 loop to be clean was a real chore, but it was the only file I had.... and I still hear the flaw that sounds like mine. Only HT could answer that. He asked for mine and I gave them to him. So not sure where they ended up today.

Who ever did the current I think they sound pretty good, but I only fly a few planes these days. Back in the day I worked on projects way more than I flew. I always had something in the oven.

I'd love to get into visual effects. But again,...same reason I haven't replaced a horrific stick, don't know where the future is going, and I have no green lights.

I actually found my old files, problem is, they are old files. There is zero probability I’ll record the planes.

They would have to be lifted from intardnet. There ate some CDs out there with recorded sounds, I don’t want to dump $ into something just to find out it doesn’t have everything I need. And since I can’t get into bank files I can’t “barrow” some sounds from it, unless I record them from the game. Unless HY has raw files he’d give up.

It would take me a while to come up to speed with fmod.

It would take some experimenting to get the 51 to whistle right. I may have to create it.

Problem is I don’t know how many tracks I can use. Limitations on what the game triggers, if at all.
