I wonder why IL2 isn't more popular?
Its got normal servers that are like ah with icons  with easy mode engine management where you can air start a mile or two from the main combat area,
dogfight servers that have no icons and full engine management with air starts in a small combat area while at the same time
running servers with battles like fso or an AH scenario like combat box.

Unless you are into jets, it seems to me that IL2 would be the closest to AH3. I really enjoy both and the fact that you can get into IL2 silly cheap with close to a dozen planes when it's on sale seems to make it a good deal to me.

I've downloaded and flow the 51 and the 24 offline and to me it didn't seem significantly better. Maybe I was missing something.

To each his own I guess.

It's hard to say.
The whole game seems to have an odd foreign feel to it. It can't seem to grab my interest. Hard to explain. Personally I don't care to be giving my money to foreign country products, I'm an American Made kinda guy.

That said, if the best and most fun sim AH ever actually dies,.... I MIGHT give IL-2 a shot.
It's just not drawing me in like this concept.

lil math

during the 20-30 minutes spent on the tarmac getting ready to fly, I can be in 2-4 fights in AH. That's before you even leave the ground.

My brother in Christ did you even read the post above you?

For the record im no fan of IL2 but you're an idiot mate there is servers in IL2 and DCS that you don't spend "30 minutes" on the ground before you can fly

I think Eastern Front focus held them back a lot over the years.

The sim market is 90+% US centric.
Toxic, psychotic, self-aggrandizing drama queens simply aren't worth me spending my time on.

Why do you feel the need to act like the ambassador to Aces High when in reality you give it a bad name because anyone who disagrees with your clearly superior intellect is subjected to the internet tough guy routine via PMs.

This is an interesting observation. I have noticed that in IL2 it seems that most of the players are not from the US with the exception of the combat box server.

If IL-2 had a setup like AH, then it would be significantly more popular.  Fortunately they can't figure out how to get it to work or it'd be a done deal now.  Even if they could get the numbers thing in, I'd say flying a bomber wouldn't amount to jack unless bombing something strategic would have results like here in AH.

Probably because nowadays "immediately everything here now"-attitude. If there's no action in 10 seconds after TO, it's boring. Folks have pants in their ants, hurry hurry and no patience at all.

I'm mostly nowadays in Finnish server w/ tank. Full realism, big eastern front map. One needs patience and ability to orientate with map and compass. Not for "points to me immediately"-ADHD boys. Like yesterday, was on a way to enemy tank base, about 15 min drive, when after some 5 min drive found fortification by accident. Mangled that stronghold by destroying 8 T34s, 5 T70s, 8 Zil5 trucks and one heavy howitzer. Then had to drive back to take more ammo.

After that, drove to that tank base, someone had bombed it flat already. Saw w/ binoculars big enemy fortification on the distance. There was a river between us and big open steppe before railway bridge. While passing that steppe, saw T34 in ambush. Hit it several times from extreme distance but could not destroy it and then came IL-2 ground attack kite and I was killed.

All that took couple of hours and I really enjoyed it, except being killed but hey, no insults or anything in comms. It's war, crap happens. I was with Pzkw IV G. Good gun, fast reload but armor could be better.

Despite being killed, I made good advance for our troops by destroying that first stronghold and made some good points. There, one fights mostly for his country, not so much for own ego to get name on spotlights.

Ah, the good ol "I want the game to play for me" crowd.  Seriously, those little chits have brought the gaming industry down so damn low...  Give em a physical book and they'd be completely lost on how to use it.

I saw it when I decided to dabble in War Thunder again.  What was once a 45m match is now your stereotypical 20m match you see in most games, can't get watermelon done.  It's asinine beyond any form of reason.  They say the new gen is more intelligent, yet games now-a-days, alone, show me that is far from the truth.

Teach me the basics and throw me into the deep end.  That's the way I grew up and it needs to be a thing again.

Il-2 and DCS are foreign made products.
AH is American made and based.

He thinks he's the AH bouncer, or manager. Might be bipolar if that's a real thing.

I don’t promote my game on other game forums.

Is there something wrong with promoting my game within my game?

You just don’t like that I point out flaws in your fake reasoning to do it here. I’m not out of line, you are.

No one us obligated to follow my opinion. You also have the ignore option. From what I understand you don’t even play the game, if do, very rarely.

Maybe you should look at your own doings, maybe get a subcontractor.

You’re just posting to scroll my reply you don’t like about DCS, the truth.
