Taken down by a falling bomb

Tonight was one of those nights that I will always remember. I was in my mossie rising to intercept some B24s... much to my surprise I was in the bomb stream and one took off my left wing... that was a first... in 17 years.

Only about the 3rd or 4th time I’ve heard this mentioned in my combined years… funny either way

One for the books! Definitely very weaksauce. IOS thinks that’s two words btw - but we know better

There was someone in the arena about 2015 who was able to do it more than once.

I hit someone years ago and it was pure luck. I think back in FSO years ago one of our squaddies was hit by another squaddies bomb. We were that close in formation lol

Yea Mols it was Hopper who took out half our squad. I remember him laughing hard so maybe it was intentional.

Lol, I flew with G3MF years ago, one of the FSO missions, had us in bombers. As we approached the target, somehow I got above our CO Rodent57. When I dropped my bombs , I killed him. He was not happy.

I dropped one bomb in a CV once and got 10 instant kills. A F4U squad spawned just as my bomb hit. I was told they all laughed about it. This was some years ago.

I’ve been bombed out of the air a couple times.

Here’s an interesting titbit that is even less common…

If you touch an enemy pilot, you both die in a collision. We both bailed (squaddie and myself) after a duel in the air and decided we’d have a pistol duel. We were going to walk 10 paces and turn and fire. We both died when we backed into each other and touched.
