Yes indeed a MB and CPU is the way to go Fugi.  Beware on intel if you are going to over clock.  Make sure you update your MB bios before attempting to OC.  Intel overestimated the chips ability to handle increased voltage.  MB makers included increasing voltage in original bios.  Lots of intels cpu bit the dirt when OC.  New bios for MB lower the OC voltage.

Number of cores.  Not sure about AH but it's age suggest limited use of multiple cores.  However many modern games do use multiple cores.

OK, Im doing a full rebuild. The only thing coming over from my old box is the video card and one or two sata HDs. Heres what I have...

AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz 6 core CPU

Asus PRIME B650-plus WIFI ATX AM5 mother board

Corsair Vengeance 32 GB DDR5-6000 ram

Acer Predator GM7000 1TB M.2-2280  solid state drive

Darkrock Classico case

Win11 64bit

Got it for $600 and should all be here by this weekend. Of course I have been working on consolidating my drives, making lists of which programs I "need" and which I "want" and which I dont have to bother with. Getting all passwords and licenses together and so on. Man I hate this!!!!   :D

All of that also means I have had to put my videos on hold. I hope it all goes smoothly and Im up and running on the new box soon.

Thanks for the help/tips !

WOW.
You're along those "if it ain't broke don't fix it!... You have right now a kick arse box with what I don't see anywhere there that you really need to improve. YOU HAVE A KILL ER core with a bunch of RAM, and OMG, LOL, I would DIE to make this box I have right here closer to the one you have!

You know already the obvious answer to not scimping on your CPU. I did and that is the bottle neck of mine and anyone else's computer a kick arse one!

Joe, I'm basically going in the same direction.

I went with the Ryzen 5 7600x,

Thermalright Burst Assassin 120 EVO DARK cooler,

MSI B650m wifi Mortar mobo,

Silicon Power ddr5-6000, 32 GB ram,

TeamGroup MP33 1TB M.2 drive

I'm going to put in my Phantek Eclipse P300A Mesh, EVGA 750 GT psu, and PowerColor 7900 GRE, from my current system.
