Had never played DoD before until now.  Didn't know what to expect, but I'm blown away.  Played it all weekend.  Very nice.  Never liked the RTCW demo and I probably won't bother with MOH either.  And this is all with a free mod.  Awesome.

I loathe CounterStike.  And the earlier DoD version wasn't too impressive.  But DoD 2 changed everything.  I especially love the drift they added to the sniper which makes it require some small part of skill to get kills with--and fewer BS kills due to being sniped.  I actually went and bought HL last week so I could play at home.  Very fun and very addicting.  Especially when you get an E-tool kill. :D

Y'all ever try to get an AH server up? That'd be cool. Anyhow, if you ever want to find me, I'm usually in the HomeLAN FED server...first on the list if you alphbetize it...it doesn't require "Cheating Death" or something...look for "Rouge", simple as that.

See ya on the battlefield!:D

Wotan has the right idea. Someone with a good machine needs to set up a dedicated Aces High server so all of us can rip it up with each other. Hell make it password protected so only AH pilos can get in. :D It'd be nice to kill some of you with rifles rather than .50's...;)

These guys are running a pretty good server. They are an old fighter ace squad so all you anti FA guys probably would not want to play there.

hehe.

Been playing DOD for the last few days and have had some fun but there is to much weird watermelon going on.

You have guys who's grenades go thru walls or kill everyone in sight or the guys who run thru MG fire and kills 3 or 4 people with 1 shot...and I mean 1 bullet for 3 or 4 people.
I have been reborn a new man!

Notice I never said a better man.

The 54 server has anti cheat software running. It works for CS don't know if it does for DoD. The Sysop Biff said he nabbed 2 cheaters within half an hour of setting it up.

They run a clean game. You might want to try them if you are seeing lots of unexplained uber kills.

I only play on servers that require "PunkBuster" its an anti cheat software wich everyone that connect to the server is required (Sp?) to have.

"Punkbuster"?   I'll go look it up. Is there anything the clients can install to help or are these host side anti-cheat programs.

Oh. an I went to join one host and I got a request from it asking if it was ok to scan my HDD to see if I had cheats on. I left without giving a reply (no idea how to as no 'box' came up to clikc on) as I did not know if it would do anything but scan my HDDD for cheats once I let it on.

Westy,

All servers that i play on sends an message to the users that it scans your computer, you dont have to answer Yes/No on these servers... They do it anyway, if you dont like it then you have to choose another server that dont do it...

There's some server side software for DOD, im sure CS too that scans your HD if you play on that server.  It gives a message at the login screen that "warns" that your HD will be scanned.  This is my favorite one :)

It doesn't require any client side software, its all server side. When it busts somebody it prints out on the screen in big red white and blue text that they've been busted and are being kicked/banned from the server :D  That's such a wonderful feeling to see one of them punks get the boot.....
