Am I liberal or conservative ?

I don't identify myself with any political party, frankly I wonder about those who do when it is not their occupation . I'm going to put forth my opinions on some american issues that have been contested as of late and I would ask you to please label me either a conservative or liberal .

Gun control - against (although I'm no gun fetishist, eww)

Abortion - Pro choice

Isrealipalistiniancrap - Arafat should be in jail with  the rest of his  terrorists friends .

Capital punishment - Against

Religion - I think it's brainwashing, I'm irreligious

Flag burning - Don't ammend the constition, People should be free to burn the flag if they wish, just don't start any forest fires .

Affirmative action - Against, nobody should be hired or fired based on their "race" . That is in fact racism .

Thats all the hot topics I can think of right now .

You agree with alittle of both parties in your post.  I'll advice you to vote the issues, not the party, that way, you can simply ignore the "R" and "D" per your state reps and senators, and go with the candidate whos issues come close to what your stance is on the issues.

Edit spelling, oh and I'm not Atheist and I don't believe in "organized" religion, at the same time, I think we should respect each others beliefs, whether you believe or not.  Religion bashing just shows ones own lack of self confidence.

Your beliefs prove that you're not some dolt who turns off the brain and spews the party's line, unlike some people on this forum.

This country could use a lof more people like you(and me).  

Here's a quick rundown of my beliefs:

Gun Control- I am for gun control of some sort.

Abortion- I am pro life. "Birth Control, not abortion" is my motto. However, in the case of rape or if the mother's life is in jeopardy, then I support abortion.

Religion- *Sigh* I'm a person who wishes there really was a God but knows by logical thinking that there isn't. Too bad, we could use a good diety to straighten out this world we live in.

Capital Punishment- For. Once proven guilty with DNA..."send'em to Jesus" as you Christians say.

Animal Rights- For.  I love animals. I am a bleeding heart when it comes to animals, and I hate to see them suffer. I used to hunt, but I wounded too many ducks & pheasants, and always felt bad that I made them suffer.

Public Education- For. I'm a former teacher who used to experience what it was like every day how difficult it is to educate children in this day & age. Teachers should work year round(with reasonable vacations just like everyone else), get paid twice as much as they do now, and there should be no tenure. All deadbeat teachers should be drummed out of the profession, and all deadbeat parents should be slapped silly for not raising their children to be respectful of teachers when in school.

Just a few of myworld views. I don't think my views would qualify as a card-carrying member of either party.

Gun Control - against, if they criminals got em we should too....


 Abortion - pro-life in all cases though I waver some when it comes to the life of the mother.

 Religion - For and against.  I'm Christian and believe the bible, but I think that churches use the bible and fear in people to manipulate them into acting in a certain manner much like governments do.

 Death Penalty - against,  I think it's better to let 10 guily people live to avoid killing 1 inocent person...  When it comes to terrorist I think I may be a hypocrite though.....

 Animal Rights - For/Against,  They need to be hunted to control their population which keeps them healthy.  Like banana though I wounded too many deer so I stopped hunting them.  It's a baaad feeling knowing there's a creature out there in extreme pain/torment because you weren't good at what you tried to do.

 Public Education - Scares me.  I'm a product of it and it failed me.  Still we need to educate "the children".   I prefer private schools over public, this comes from personal experience.  So I'm for vouchers and accountablilty for teachers.  We need to get the bad teachers out and good teachers in.  Oh and fire 90% of the "administrators"....

The Enviornment - Now here I know that I am conservative . By preserving and managing the global enviornment intelligently you are preserving humanity .

My philosophy on religion - I believe that there is a reason why space, matter, energy, love and the ability to appreciate beauty exist. I do not profess to know that reason, and I do not believe any man or book that does .

Public Education  - For, We ned to do all we can to support and improve this.

Drug Legalization - Pot yes, Other drugs no. And I am no longer a user of anything. OK. I drink a 5th of good scotch a year, and maybe a 12 pack of beer (guinness)...a year. I used to use, got smart 12 years ago.

Reps or Dems - I think both are becoming a Charicature of themselves.
