Received an X45 from a buddy without the disk, I need it to get windoze to recognize the X45, if you have it, could you zip it and email it to me?

Another problem I have is when I boot up, it recognizes new hardware, then when I do the Human Interface object, it asks for the Win98 disc, then cannot find drivers for it..(shrugs)

Tried the SGE from that link, still a no go...
Moving from an X36 to an X45,unplugging the X36, I deleted completely (including registry entries) all Saitek software from the puter, then ran SGE.After reboot, SGE did not auto detect the new X45 after it was requested to be plugged in. Going to the COntrol panel, there is no option for an x45, only the x36.
Anyone have a clue how I can get Win98 to recognize the new X45?

Rip, open SGE till ya get the X36 and Command list. Right click on the empty area and add the X45.  Delete the X36.  Should be set up and ready to program or whatever.

As far as the file Windows is looking for, I assume you have checked the Windows directory on the harddrive? Try Windows/System too ...

On the Saitek help board, posting my above info:

"If you ran SGE 3,0 then it doesn't list the X-45 as an available controller - you need to use the CD that came with the the stick.
Alternatively, the next version of Saitek's new software (which is supposed to be out Monday 19th) should add Win 98 support.

Looks like I'm dead in the water since this is a 2nd hand stick, no CD (one on the way though)

Ozark, the SGE is an execute file, theres no opening it so to speak.

rgr Rip - otw

I'd be sure to Nuke USB any ref to the controller now and run the software without the controllers hooked up, the software tells you when to hook em up.

Thks Eagler! Yes, I did that, along with the NOJOY and the time consuming registry update of deleting all the Saitek/X36 stuff. I'll repeat the process once I get the disc.
