somehow.... the freedom to walk topless on the beach and to smoke pot till I'm stupid doesn't seem quite so important to me as being able to defend myself and others from tyranny from within or without.

Some holsters accentuate the topless, red-eyed look.

Might eliminate the concealed carry requirements.

Hey look, this thread was hijacked.

Bug - you have no idea what youre tralking about firearms wise, do you?  The only safe gun is an unloaded gun?  Where did you hear this?  There is NO such thing as a safe weapon.  Didnt anyone ever tell you that all firearms are to be considered loaded at all times?  Id would have more faith in a 9 year old Boy Scout with a rifle that I would with you - you'd probably end up pulling the trigger and killing someone in your attempts to find out how everything worked.  If youre going to spout off on a topic you obviously have great passion for, get some facts first instead of eating everything your fed.

In addition - your argument regarding the "safety" of your 73 VW is rediculous... and your claim that horsepower contributes to "lack of safety" further condemns you to the ranks of the uninformed firebrands.  I would rather have a brand spanking new 996 Turbo if I was required to AVIOD an accident or, god forbid, engage in one.

Merry trolling.

BUG_EAF - that looks like a 1303 with the curved windscreen and slightly elongated bonnet/hood. Do you have another picture of the back? My model is the one before that - no heater fan. So in the winter, I have piss-poor heating/demisting... tend to use the Golf!  I don't mind what I drive, as long as it's German. :D

-indeed!  The Beetle was created by the father of Ferdinand Porsche. It shows up in the design. Small details like the adjustment for the generator belt. I'm talking about when the Porche 911 was air cooled, of course.

'GTO' and 'GT' are European racing classifications. The Italian term, 'Gran Turismo Omologato', means Grand Touring class production vehicle, homologated for racing. The name came to mean a large, high-performance sports car comfortable enough for long trips or 'touring', as opposed to the smaller, less comfortable 2-seater 'true' sports cars.

So, if this is true, when Farrari named it's GTO a GTO, it's the same as if Dodge had named the Charger a Stock Car?

;)
