AW question
« on: March 27, 2001, 02:13:00 PM »
There have been a flood of AW posts here since the bomb went off.  Checking AGW, it hasn't happen over at WB. I was wondering why AW,ers seem to have chosen AH considering WB is a couple bucks cheaper?

Probably because there's already a considerable number of AWers here who still post on the vasious AW boards, AND these boards are a bit easier to find than AGW.

Doubt it.   IMO WarBirds has the easier FM of the two, as it is considerably easier to "fly" the planes (plus the planes are more stable).

I think the AW community just likes AH better overall

Perhaps the majority of Air Warrior pilots chose Aces High because it is closest to offering what Air Warrior was supposed to become?

Then there's the team that stepped out and built Aces High ..the mission statement alone is what grabbed my attention and prompted me to try Aces High in the first place.
We've all been jerked around by companies that had too many irons in the fire. Diluted effort means *years* added to any meaningful change, and the customers percieve stagnation and 'same old - same old' when 'over there' the grass is greener.
In a customer driven marketplace, that is suicide.

Companies have to come to grips with the fact that customers don't owe them anything, they *will* go to greener pastures.

A smart company will dedicate itself to having the greenest pastures.

Actually alot of  AWiers recently did make the move to WB's citing the 'easier' WB's fm (even in hard mode) quoting such things as 'faster action" "more funner AW style fighting." Of course alot of them just LOVE WB's easy mode and the easy mode  online arenas too.

However,  iEN's boards are dead in comparison to HTC's.  Add in they just haven't found the independant AGW and you can see why *you* don't hear much from them.  I *can* help fix that if you wish? To help point the ex- AW "easy mode" masses and new folks to Argo's place so that they too could particpate with their new found community would be my pleasure.

I believe that AH is more of a challenge and worth the money. The last time I played WB it was still dark even with the contrast on the monitor turned up and thier stall, black outs, and red outs are alot more fogiving than AH. Also no GV's.They also don't have a user controlled fleet. It seems to me that AH is going in the right direction.
