Joy stick woes
« on: May 13, 2003, 12:43:35 PM »
Hi all......am seriously thinking of emmigrating from FA3.5 over to
Aces High and have downloaded and started tinkering offline.

I do have a problem in that my CHpro F16 fighterstick and pedals are not working at the same time - either one or the other will work but not both together.

Any advice on getting Aces to use both pedals and rudder - I want to map buttons etc and get a little practice before I let you all start to kill me..

Well I've spent 4 hours trying to get the controllers recognised - must be the worst  jstick set I've ever seen - worse than ILFB - is there any such thing as a sysop.

The stick and rudder can be seen but they won't calibrate,  rudder is recognised as the throttle and no rudders are available...

in AH (offline in game) go to setup then joystick

you should see both

select your stick first and set all the buttons (set inputs all or something like that) to your stick.

then select rudder then our pedals then the axis your pedals ue and st that input

you should be able to calibrate and save then

Jstick is dead and it thinks the pedals (Z axis) is the throttle - throttle is actually the Z axis on the stick....

Have tried to contact hitech but must admit as a first experience
of Aces High it's not a good one.

Thnks for the advice though......

Under tech support if you do a search on joystick you NINE pages of posts - I would suggest that AH has some serious problems with regard to the support of controllers for this game.

Quite frankly it's crap...

bye all

I sent you a private EM... see if that helps... If not send an EM to Skuzzy, he'll get you straightened out...

If anyone is using a CHpro F16 stick and pedals plse would you email me a copy of yr joystick file - hoping that I might fix the problem that way.

USB or analog?

Have you tried calibrating your stick in Windows first to make sure that it's working properly?

Both USB, and yep did calibrate in XP, also deleted Aces High and all files and reinstalled. Aces sees the stick ok but as soon as you try to set up the pedals it goes weird.

I had to uninstall AH after I installed the Control Manager software, then reinstall AH

I have the same set-up: USB Fighterstick and Pro Pedals - but haven't read the CM doc to see how to program them yet.  The key is to have the CM2.0 installed before you install the joystick and pedals.  After that was done, I mapped the functions to the hat switch and buttons using the Aces High Joystick calibration screens.  I haven't used CM2.0 yet.  Eventually I'll map the keyboard through CM2.0 so I can manually trim the 109G10 properly and also use all of the views and hats. ;)
