I just subscribed to that forum with the nickname "ComeToAH". Somehow I have a feeling they won't activate my account :)

hehe.. beat me to it :)

it's difficult for some people to change, that's part of why the WBers are still there...
or the fact that they actually know each virtual pilot in the arena at any given time (20 aren't hard to get to know)
then there's the big fish in a small pond syndrome...

and some guys actually believe all the marketing (read: pad Bill's pockets before he bails) stuff...

either way most of the Best of the WB pilots are already here :)

Hmm. If people really cancell their accounts, and 20 players at a time (reminds me of a 1.11 arena when only Mac guys and people with slow PCs were there in Winter 97-98) reflects the number of paying customers - it's pretty hard to say who milks whom.

Server and communication maintenance, connectivity and other rents can cost mush more then their income from customers.

BTW, who's the WB boss there now, after HS and Littman were fired?

You're not going to be helping AH by going over there with talk of leaving for AH in the same way 'Ring' did'nt help the WW2OL cause here when he posted in the main forum, not that AGW is iEN's forum but a lot of die hard WB'ers are not goign to take kindly to you going over there banging the AH drum.

Warbirds suffered a huge blow when AH came along but I think the real beginning of the end came when WW2OL was released and iEN could only manage a half baked sim that WBIII was back then. Online numbers in Euro time ammount to about 40 or so on average and I have to wonder what will happen to that number once AHII:TOD comes along with it's mission based system which a lot of WB'ers have already said they would definately try, not only that but Targetware also looms on the horizon and Wild Bill doesn't appear to have any strategy in place (did he ever have a strategy?) to counter these threats to his business.

They were talented guys who left the team, programmers and an artist which begs the question is Wild Bill now relying too heavily on the player developed art? 'BROKEN' was a real class act he was their 'Skuzzy'...always willing to listen and would always try to help.

While Warbirds will continue you have to wonder at what pace? development was slow enough anyway especially when Wild Bill had them working on three projects and now he cuts the staff when production of his core sim should be ramped up to meet the challenges ahead.

Its never good to watch an old friend suffer no matter what the current relationship is.

Wild Bill coming back was a sign of things to come.  Still waiting for someone to prove all the anti-Bill naysayers wrong in this regards.

I'm sure that iEN's elite ninja carebears will turn up soon waving their pom poms and painting a happy little rainbow over the mess

It's kind of sad when you can find more players on the FreeBirds server than you can find in WB.  Even more sad is that the guys behind FreeBirds probably update that game with new planes more than iEN does for WB.
