Ghosth - were you Elvene in WB? If so, did you have a son who was about 6 at the time of the WB2000 con? What a cute little chap he was... :)

what i miss is that there are no unrealistic hit sprites in WB III. BTW, i can hit targets 1.0 away with Fw-190A-8.

I never said I missed WB 2.77 or WB 3.  None of the things I miss are part of WB anymore.  Last good version of WB was 2.5.  Once HT and Pyro et al left the company it went downhill fast.

Having only recently left Warbirds, here's what I miss:

1. A pistol when I'm hitting the silk. At least I could take out some aggression by shooting at the guy who shot me down, even if I only ever killed someone with it ONCE in three years of trying.

2. Configurable tracer color. I could set the tracer to be a different color than the hit flash. Aided visibility.

3. Landing a field capture by yourself. Lotsa fun.

4. Godzilla island.

5. Remember in the very early beta days, when it was Confirmed Kill, and you could telnet into the game server and type commands, chat with people, and so forth? Sometimes I would just love a way to text-chat with folks who are flying when I am at work WITHOUT firing up the entire AH front end.

I miss the purps and JPC.

I don't miss the horrible connects. (That used to plague WB after the NC move. Don't know 'bout now)

I only miss the newness felt after first arriving from awdos....CK with that foggy terrain was wild after awdos's enviroment.

The first year was cool....glad Dale split. I tend to follow that putz wherever he goes.

I miss WarBirds' muted dark grim overall aspect where the sun never shown and no monitor could brighten.  NOT!

The eternally blind 6 view was almost as bleak.

Ghost or is a different guy in WB Beet1e, we both started in the EZ Targets originally.  F4U fan now with the 444th. Computer guru and a real nice guy. I think he is one of the hosts in the hardware forum now. And he was at the 2000 con. Didn't have his son though. Hamfst had his son with him. Hamfst is dabbling over here now and his son flys Hammys call sign.

Good people.

I miss landing a field to capture.

I miss walking in the 75mm's from the nose of my B-25H onto an enemy base.

I miss some of the more memorable characters from Warbirds, whether you loved'em or hated'em....dood, scop, eman, lazs, stiglr, LLBM, Vila, snak, Vert, gigg, many others whom I can't remember.

I miss flying Stukas on jet day.

I miss flying naked.

*sigh*

Long Live v1.11r2!

Heya poopster :)

yeah, stickin' my head in, just to see.

Think I'm gonna install AH for offline training for my kids, since WB's don't do 1v1 anymore.

No account though.  Waiting to see AH2.  AH1 just doesn't float my boat for some reason.

Ike - they completely porked offline damage as part of the overall effort to try to prevent the fr**h*sting of WBIII like what happened to WB2.77.  Same reason 1v1 disappeared.  The .50s don't hit like that online, but they do well enough.  I don't have any problem killin' with them over there.

Bizket!  Howya doin?  u awfully quiet on mail list!

Man is it tempting to try to argue some of the stuff above, but ya know what?  To each his own.  Looks like y'all miss 1.11 or 2.5 more than anything else.  *shrug*  I love it over there, even with the lower numbers of late.  Have fun here guys!
