Both made by relatively tiny countries.

These are our new longboats. As soon as we find a place to hang our shields and fit the oars, the French and British shall once again learn to fear the wrath of the Northern Ones.

It looks like the one year marketing tour that KNM Skjold did to the US payed off :)

JOHN J. MCMULLEN ASSOCIATES AND RAYTHEON TEAM AWARDED US NAVY LITTORAL COMBAT SHIP (LCS) DESIGN CONTRACT
06 August 2003 17:00:45
John J. McMullen Associates, inc. (JJMA), A leading U.S. naval architect / marine engineering firm, announced the award on July 17th, 2002 of a $10million contract to the Raytheon led team for preliminary design of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS). The ship, as part of the DD(X) family of ships, is intended to be a light, high-speed surface combatant capable of fighting intense battles in Littoral waters.

Other team members include Norwegian shipbuilder, UMOE Mandal, Goodyear Engineered Polymer Products Division and Atlantic Marine inc. Three contracts were awarded from among six bidders. At the conclusion of this phase, one or two teams will be chosen to continue into the contract design and build phases of the program.

It looks kinda like Skjold but bigger

Looks like an updated version of the Higgins PT boats.

Sounds like we finally found an answer to those pesky Pirates of the Caribbean!

you do realize that they spent all that money to make something 'stealth' when all they need to do is SUBMERGE the damn thing.

i should be hired by those defense companies, i'd build them the world's first submarine battleship.

 :p :D
