New "Scooter" to replace stolen one
« on: November 30, 2003, 08:51:29 AM »
I picked this up Friday evening.

I wanted the silver-grey model but my son is a huge "Red Ranger" fan and he loves to ride on the bike...so I got the red one.

It is just a 125cc Honda...but it is the biggest engine size allowed on this tiny nannied little island.

Good fun to ride though.  :)

just curious... what is your governments excuse for not allowing you to have a motorcyle (anything over 125cc)?

oh... and you are fine with that?

I don't know about the Government restrictions on engine size, but they sure don't have a minimum age on driver's licenses.

And why does the Government make Curval wear that mask instead of a helmet

Nice Scooter, Curval :aok

Oh lazs, lazs lazs...you are so predictable.

The limit is set for a varierty of reasons.

The roads are very small and narrow.  Large bikes would need to cross into the other lane to be able to make many of the turns, especially at any kind of speed.

Given the speed limits are very low you would never get out of 3rd gear with a larger cc bike.  My understanding is that there are speed limits in the US as well.  Ours are set low for probably the same reasons your are...safety.

I doubt you agree with the limits in Dixon and surrounding area lazs....but unless you stick to 'em the man is gonna ticket you.  Same here.

Helmets are also required...this shot was my son in his Halloween costume.

This I know grinds you lazs...but it is another commanlity between my island and your country.

Let us celebrate our nannnyhood together.  :)

You should have gotten a 2-stroke bike and tune the hell out of it.

Use to have a Dragster 175 for racing around town, Great fun! Thing could do 160kph and out accelerate anything for the first few meters.

Plus you could get your knee down on the corners quite easily. And with titanium knee sliders able to put on quite a show for your mates at night. lol

LOL... a real bike would be too big to go around corners?   Is that what they toldya?   Yu are "safer" on a little tiny bike?  is that what they toldya?   You can't have a gun cause you will hurt yourself?  is that what they told ya?

It's not so much how fast ya go it's how much fun ya have gettin there.   It all about variety, freedom and choice... anyone who tries to take those things away from you should be considered the enemy.... yes... that really is all there is to it.

Okinawa has many 1 lane roads and they used to limit bikes to 750cc. However, that wasn't due to road conditions or safety but rather that was the largest driven by the police and they didn't want be out run.
