You people are all on crack.

Best looking aircraft ever:

Best looking prop plane?  A much more difficult proposition.  51b, P-40, Corsair, some of the Yaks, the Macchi's that we have in AH, Fiat G55, they're all beautiful.

Ugly?  Anything with a radial engine that's not a Corsair.

Best looking aircraft ever? Would have given the following answer since I was 7 or 8 years old :

Lockheed F-104 Starfighter.

Saw them high up almost dailiy when I was in elementary school, saw a few retired ones in museums and even saw the last ones still flying a few years ago in Italy.

If any design says 'speed' this must be it.

F-18  for modern fighter
You know that your landing gear is up and locked when it takes full power to taxi to the terminal

About time someone has some sense. I loved the 262 since I first saw it the Air & Apace museum when I was about 11 years old. Got yelled at for rubbing the nose :)

Nothing says "oh Shi* i'm F*ed" as a Fw 190
Just think about the way the Abbeyville boys were percived during WWII. US army and RAF fighters were known to break away from fights when they encountered the "yellow noses"

Dont know the Pony looks mighty good sporting the shark mouth.

RacrX (Nice handle BTW) - Yeah, I took my first trip to the Smithsonian in the mid 90's specifically to see the 262.  Spent 2 days at the Garber Restoration Facility as well (they've got a Kikka hanging from the ceiling of one of the buildings.).  It was even more amazing than the Air & Space Museum itself.  One of the highlights of my airplane loving life has been the trip to the Texas Airplane Factory during the 1998 Warbirds Con and checking out their replica 262s.

SixxGunn - To each his own, but "Ugh."  That thing looks horrid.  That little bitty skinny mouth just doesn't look right.  Shouldn't be a sharks mouth on anything but a P-40 (and the motorcycle I'm painting this spring. :)  )
