Ram in another online game that will remain nameless, this happens quite often.  And it's simply a case of bad bytes in the downpipe.

You can be seeing one thing while someone else is seeing something completely different.  It does happen.  In this other game for instance..if you start a spiral climb and look 6..you see a bogey and his wings his nose is pointed anywhere from the 60 to 90 degree range when you start hearing pings.

Or..many times I encountered someone who would appear to be a ghost..non-manuevering..I'd damage him..put a whole ammo clip in him and he'd still be flying..flames..smoke you name it.  Only to have received hits from him myself.  Eventually he went down.  At no time did he appear to me that he moved, warped or anything.  

Players like this usually loose connection just after..or remain a ghost.  Sometimes just entering the arena..even though my connect shows good, I can read chat but see no planes..etc.

Unfortunately these things do happen, and they happen often enough that thinking it's a cheat is a bad response..imo.

Where you see plane usully further behind you than he really is..

But.. let me tell my experience from H2H:
I played H2H with one who also lives in finland, so ping wasn't too big and we wen't into C.202 duels.
It was horrible scissoring and sometimes we were shooting each others at the same time.
or trying to get the aim fixated, when we both were behind each others  
Lag makes funny thing when it comes to very very close combat...   but that surely wasn't 200 yards  
though, with very small ping.

about 5 yrs ago back in original AW on aol...I took off one day in a 190 after climbing to bout 8k I noticed a vader (A26) zommed in and hammered him...no evasives...little later a couple of 38's...zoomed in and hammered them...no evasives...this went on for 2-3 more bounces...till the text buffer was screaming.
Now at this point I was a "semi-dweeb" so I continued for a few more bounces till I hit 15 or so...at this point more than a few of the old hands were going coronary. While I was cruising along assessing the various feedback (mostly REAL bad  )...I got toasted same way. Aparently my "plane" was seperated from my "FE" and not even in same sector. I was flying one place and my "plane" was elsewhere. I'm not sure who I spoke to in technical support but apparently it does happen occasionally, and I've seen it once or twice a yr in AW. You just got on the wrong side of the internet gods buddy .
