A tiffie has just shot me down when I was at his six, 200 yards away, I smoked his engine badly, got position to finish him and sudennly started hearing pings. no guess that only 5 pings and I was history.

UBIF, if you are here do one of this things

a) get a new connection, because you must have more than 5 seconds of lag.

b) stop firing backwards in a typhoon. Cheater.

And no, I have no F"$%32ing damned film. I spotted a typhoon at some 700 feet of altitude (I was 6K more or less), and dived on it. I dont film many fights but for sure this one had no challenge.

It has been proven that hacking AH is a reality.

That being said, I can only let this one slide. I have seen several *strange* happenings lately but I think its a server/network problem. We now average 130/150 players online when I visit the MA regularily. Back when the average was 70/90, things just seemed more stable. Case in point: last night I was fighting a F4U and he got a zoom pass on me. He fired his guns but I didnt get the pings until he was D2 in front of me.
The warps lately have been pretty bad.

This guy NEVER had a shooting chance on me, and I repeat it NEVER.

I only let open a door to a possible lag matter. But at 200yards on his six and with practically no closure rate at all, this guy must have a lag measurable in seconds. in MANY Seconds.

He wasnt warping.

He wasnt avoiding my attack!!!!!

He wasnt maneouvering at all!!!!!

and I started getting the hits when I was dead at his six!!!!!!!

There is no other solution: CHEAT.

If it was lag and the guy was seeing me in his fore quarter then explain me why wasnt he maneouvering for a shot?...

Negative ,no enemy cons nearby. There was a knight but cant remember who was.

I checked it several times, he was the only enemy near.

Calm down RAM!

I have seen this also. In fact several times. It has occurred ON and OFF since beta, rarely enough not to create concern.

The only thing I can figure is that if you or your opponent lose a stable connection, the game sort of "Keeps you both in it". By that I mean the disco plane keeps going on for a short while exactly how it was going before disconnect. As soon as reconnect occurs it warps to a new position.

IMO, you were chasing a "Ghost". Consider this; the con was not maneuvering, because of disco; and thusly seemed to ignore you. In reality it did see you and reacted. Your attack on the Ghost led you into a position to be attacked by that very same con who had been manuvering in the in between time.

I believe this is what you saw. However, I have no way of knowing for sure and there has been some discussion in the past about "Line Choking".

Ever hear of Occam's razor? Making this type of post is bad form and is about as detrimental to the game as cheating is. If you feel this was a case of that, you should email me with the details. You yourself have stated before that you've been accused of cheating. Why is this different than that?

We can't prevent all cheats from ever happening but likewise we can't be prevented from detecting it either. It's a prime concern for any online game. Throwing around accusations of cheating is the online sim's equivilent of throwing around accusations of child molesting. You don't have to be correct to attach a stigma to somebody and make everybody else paranoid or out on a witch hunt.

sigh.. sounds a bit like the spit catching a diving f4u....

Saw a high con, no one else but me in area.
watched him, (figured he'd seen me too...)
saw him start to drop, so I started shallow dive at full bore. He dropped some more, I went deeper dive, (I'd been at about 12k, he reportedly started at 20) kicked wep on..

watched as my speed crept up the scale...
450 indicated, around 420 true..
Icon shows on dropping spit.
deepen my dive...
500 knts indicated, 480 true..

Spit still closing.. (down below my rear LOS now)

indicated now at about 510, true around 490. Carefully holding it at that speed, (don't need compression)

3 minutes or so later, Spit caught me...

when I asked him how he mamanged to turn and fight his spit at 500 knots plus, he replied his top speed was never over 380 indicated

All this in a sector and a half,
(over 30 miles), straight away continuous dive... no turns, no jinks untill I saw shells passing canopy

I'm wondering which FM is seriously porked now....

unfortunately I never film anything so I can't even show it to HT or Pyro...

btw NOT accusing anyone of cheating here,,
it's just one of those things that make ya go

Its not a ghost. Cant' be. as I said before, I hit his engine badly. Radiator and oil at the same time (grey and black smoke). Engine still running,tho.

I pulled back trhottle and got his six. Then PING PING PING PING CRASH!!!!!, and I went down on flames. Since the oil and radiator leak started until the pings, less than 5 seconds passed by. No material time for him to reverse over me and get a shot.

You can't damage a ghost, mino. You can fire and hit it but you wont see the damage until the server "sees" that the damage is "received" by the other guy's FE.

I have shooted at a lot of ghosts before. I NEVER saw smoke on one of them before I saw their warp...

So it can't be a ghost.

Pyro I understand your answer. I have no proof of this, film was off (I will put it on ALWAYS now, any time I enter fight. Its bad enough to see this, to find I have no proof).

But take all the signs again:

-bounce on tiffie: tiffie KNOWS I am there (I was diving on him after a hi yoyo to follow a break turn)

-stable hits on him. Engine badly mauled, radiator and oil lines damaged

-the guy doesnt maneouver at all, nor to evade me, nor to "fire at me" if he is seeing me in his front quarter

-I get his dead six few seconds after I land the hits on him and just then PING PING PING KABOOM!.

-He couldnt be a ghost, as I saw clearly the damage on him.

-He had NO TIME to do a loop, turn or whatever to get my six in less than 5 seconds.

-There was NO Enemy nearby (again). because:

1)-I checked it. Several times. last time when I started the last bounce (roughtly 15 seconds before my death)

2)-THere was a knight near (some 1.5K-2K away). I cant recall his name, but if he had seen an enemy its likely that he would've have reported it when I said "hey you cheater" in #1 channel.

All this leads to only one thing:

CHEAT.

I dont have film, but I have eyes in my face...

[edit]yes, westy, I did read his post. This was intended to be my last post in this thread. I had to put ALL the things straight and in a clear order, the clearer way possible, so there is no doubt about what I saw.

I dont want to make harm to AH, in any way. But we have seen several times people who has hacked the software...so this is nothing new (that I know of)
