I think it's more fun to send the check 6 after their plane is flaming meteor. Better late than never!

Does it matter what it's due to unless it's intentional on your part? Point being .... the "check six" key still serves a purpose. :D

btw .... there are hearing impaired AH players.

I'll generally use the check6 key when I can if I'm pretty sure the friendly doesn't know there's a guy on his 6.  For the tardlets that gripe about no check6 after they've been killed, I always make sure to give them a hearty check 6 over country vox or the range channel. :)

Give 'em when I can. Give verbal ck 6 when I can read and/or pronounce yer callsign. Eyes ain't what they usta be. Always keep my "damn, no ck 6" to myself, wish everyone did.

I was listening to a guy whine about no-one giving him a check-6 on the "range" channel while I was shooting a YAK off his buddy.  Would have been nicer if he'd have given me a check-6 for the 109 I didn't see rather than complaining about things that had already happened.

Of course I hadn't heard any communication from this bozo except his complaining about check-6 calls during the entire defensive.

Check-6s are great when you can give them, and great when you get them.  When its 20 vs 20 in one big hairy furball it gets a little busy and its hard to keep babysit everyone else.  I usually just worry about my squadies in that situation.

Then there's the low La7 comming into the fight on the deck like the hammers-of-heck.  Nobody saw this one.

Then there's the other thought, you don't realize that the guy was droping on a specific target.  You set up the intercept, focused on the bog, at 600-yds you realize he has a friendly in his sights.  Would you rather have the check-6 or have me pull the trigger and solve the problem?  I can key the mic quicker, just hope you don't have an eye-chart line or your social sec. number as your handle.

Good check-6 calls come from experience.

As has already been stated in this thread however, its your arse, you may want to keep an eye on it.
