I would like to see opinions on HTC adding an option to allow you enable enemy planes to see your name ID on your Icon.

I was thinking that many WWII aces had paint schemes that were identifiable by the enemy. Where we do not yet have the custom paint option, maybe it would cool to show your Name ID to the enemy so they know who you are.

An option similar to tracers, where you select it on or off while in the tower.

I think them we will see who thinks they are "Tough guys" and who are not. Something like put up or shut up.

It sounds cool to me (if hitech doesn't think he has better things to do with his time).  I enjoy the thought of either A) being a tough guy and having people hunt me or B) Having my ego crushed because nobody thinks it's worth their time to do so.  Either way it should be a nice ego-correcting feature  .

yeah, if it were an option I'd be all for it.

enemy icon would be the person's name, but alt-i would id planetype just like for friendlys.

that'd be up there with 'fun' features

How about something similar to the CheckSix key, but instead, a "Taunt" key...select an enemy aircraft, for example a P-51 and select "taunt" and he hears "Run little Runstang, run!"

It would be the first time Channel One would be quiet!

Leviathn it's voluntary.  You don't have to turn on your ID if you don't want to.  Of course that just means I'd probably spend all of my time stalking the only unmarked Spit V in the game.

You apparently don’t realize that having an icon with your name above your aircraft will make absolutely no difference to you.  Your presence is apparent about 5 seconds after you enter the furball because you usually don’t waste much time getting your name into the kill buffer.  Even though there are often a cloud of spitfires out there, you are one of the easiest guys in the arena to find.  It’s not like you’re one of those anonymous alt-weenies hanging out over the fight for 15 minutes looking for the “perfect opportunity” for a safe kill.  You may as well stop kidding yourself and admit that you like the attention.

The last sim I was in had callsigns permanently displayed and it didn't work out too well.  

Guys who are popular targets (really good sticks/HTC employees) would have to have aliases.  Good sticks attract nma like a me-262.
