I am now debating cancelling my AH account when the next billing period comes around...

First, they insist on keeping that worthless excuse for a map nicknamed 'Pizza' in rotation.  Even though the vast majority hate that map.

Then, they refuse to do anything about the collision model, and give you the same standard response 'net lag' when you ask anything about it.

Add the fact that they are spending all their time creating AH2 rather than fixing AH1...  seems like you'd fix you xurrent product before moving on to the next... but it doesn't matter, AH2 will replace AH1 in 'two weeks'.

Now, they go and remove nighttime from the MA... why?  Havn't seen a single explaination???  Other than HiTech's post saying he 'wanted to tsee the other side of the fence whine.'

Kinda gettin feed up with the way things work around here... figure I'll take my little $15 and go elsewhere, adn when I get there, be sure to tell them WHY I am there and not here...  nothing like word of mouth advertising eh?

You, and by extension, all of us really have two choices: play the game as it is loaded, or quit. It is as simple as that. If you could find something more enjoyable to do with the time you would have otherwise committed to AH, then do it! I don't like all maps and often get frustrated, but then again, two days later there I am logging in for more.

Its up to you.

I guess you were'nt around when we got a update every 2-3 months, adding new planes, maps and features for almost, whats it been since this came out, almost 4 years.
as a matter of fact, i think the updates on AH2 run just about the same time cycle, maybe even quicker.
HT announced that development on AH would stop so he could concentrate on 2.
Never mind the fact there's nothing out there thats even Close to AH1
Stick around, make the investment in patience and you might be suprised shortly down the line

That there tells me you don't have any clue what you are talking about or what you are asking for.

I, for one, am very glad they are ignoring you're demands, and of those like you, to change the collision model.

In five years that I'm in AH I've never seen HTC let pass more than two months without arranging or fixing or adding something new.
Now they are working hard to AH2, that seems an answer to our requests in AH .
Lets them work, and show at least a bit of respect for their working, then will come the time  for us to judge.

As my father used to say to me, You will either eat what's on your plate or you will starve to death...

You whines/gripes are done with as little taste as humanly posible.

People complain too much about what is wrong with this game and never look at what this game has that many/none of the other flight sim/games DO NOT HAVE...

I say good bye and good riddens to yet another whiner... If you are thinking about leaving due to those reasons you are better off not playing at all then to sit around and moan about it...

BUT... I am not HiTech. Big difference there. He cares about what you think. I do not.

As for those who look at this game just as a glass being half full rather than half empty. I you...

that is all

OK... so you are syaing a collision model that has one plane destroyed and the other receive NO damage is OK???

Explain the logic behind that if you please.

@Morpheus...  I'm glad you don't care what I think, because I quite frankly could care less what you think.  Your father was a smart man, my parents and grandparents told me the exact same thing.
Btw...  I have went about 'complaining' the proper way in the past...  by bringing it up as well as possible solutions to the problem through the proper channels.  I just figured I'd try teh capitalist way as a final ditch (money talks).

And I do acknowledge what AH offers that others don't, but at that same time I have to acknowledge the problems associated.  You have to weigh the pro with the cons.

Madman, give the MA a break for a while.  Have you considered trying some of the many special events?

Scenerios, Snapshots, Squad Ops, and Saturdays the CAP event takes place.  Currently it starts at 1730 (530 EST) in the SEA.  You should come check it out.  Special events may be the answer.

Madman, the current collision model is the best it can be with the possibillity of 400 people online in the same map.

If you don't like the collision model, then don't put yourself in a place to collide.

Madman, the standard response "net lag" is the correct response.

What happens is, that what you see on your front end (your screen) is not quite the same as the other guy sees on his front end (his screen). This is because the two people may have 100-200ms ping times to the HTC server, and although this isn't a very long time it makes differences. So when you collide in a plane coming at you, you die becasue you hit him on YOUR front end, due to internet lag (read ping times for now) he may or may not see the same thing on his front end. He may infact be only 10 or 20 yards away from you on his front end but that's enough to avoid colission.

Let me take this a step further.  YOU see a ram.  Your NME does not.  YOU rammed them in other words, so YOU get the damage.  If YOU do not want damage, try to get BEHIND your nme as opposed to nose to nose, and the problem is solved.  In general, the only ramming I tend to get is from the debris of the planes I shoot.  I almost ALWAYS avoid ANY sort of nose to nose situation (unless I'm fighting JB42, in which case I TRY to HO him. heh that really pisses him off)  and I maybe get rammed 1/2 dozen times a tour max, and those are mostly in furballs.  Quit HO'in, and you will see far fewer rams.  Don't blame "net lag" because you decide to go nose to nose with your enemy.  Get some ACM.  Can't get rammed if your behind them.

Well Mad I can appreciate where you are comming from with Pizza Crap and the Fuel pork issues.

As for the Collision model well, flyingaround said it all there.

As for AHII, it is the way to go.  AHI has a great server and the fact that they can handle the traffic they are is amazing and awsome, but AHI is out of date and has lived well past it's time.  I applaud HTC for moving onto AHII even tho my patience wains from time to time, especially when Pizza Crap and Big Isles is up.  Even the small maps with the majority of the fields a sector or more apart can be brutal.

The fact that he reduced the night time is one thing that gave me new life in a dulling atomosphere and the quality of AHII beta17.

For the guys that think giving the shove to people considering leaving, well that is just stupid.  The more people paying HTC the better for the community.  Your ignorance in this matter is just a blight on you.

Hold in there Mad it's going to get better.  Try the other arenas when it gets bad.  Sometimes I have found some great battles after leaving the MA to the dweebs.  I'm not going to lie to ya tho, somtimes it just gets worse when you cant find a decent fighting environment anywhere lol.

I.E.
This past Wednessday, the 13ths sqd night, we were up in the MA and it was the typical MA (Vagina map knights down to a few bases, fuel porked everywhere.  BORING!!!!) so we logged for the slot in the CT.  OK first it was all allies against a few axis.  So we changes to axis and so did everyone else so it was all axis and a few allies.  Very Boring again.  So we decided to go to the DA.  Luckly there was a decent amount of people going at it between the Free For All fields.  So that salvaged an otherwise crappy night on the AH server.  A few of the guys still logged in disgust, which I couldn't balme them for.

We've all got our own personal list of things that irk us about the game.  From graphics, random disconnects, AI ack, etc etc.

If you think saying "I quit unless you fix this NOW" is the solution...well, sorry.

Take Oct's advice.  Take a few days off then return.  Its how I play now.  A few days on, a few days off.  Otherwise, the game ticks me off.

They are working hard on AH2.  The beta's are slowly getting prettier every release.
