Removing CV's Fester? Can you relocate them?:D

I really enjoy the CV's, it makes it easier to get to a battle quicker. And with all the kamikazi's, they get sunk quick, it kinda bums me out, even though I am am fodder for the 109's and La-7's that circle like buzzards whenever a CV gets close.

Yep, reducing visibility of feul sure took away the mode of play for quite a few, but we're not selfish, screw em.

It did not take away a mode of play, it helped balance out the pork vs resupply problem.  You can still pork fuel, it just made it a little bit harder to do.

"anything that increases the chances that dweeb will fly bombers is a good thing " WOuldnt be to quick with that one lol. In my quest to have fun (getting bored with ah) I figured a dweeb with an average shot from gun position (me) can kill at least 4 or 5 cons per sortie while ackstarring :)

two dweebs maybe

with multiple vhs (ive found 3 is plenty and will be the max number in next version at large vbases) the fight goes onbetween the ground players and although it is hampered by enemy aircraft and helped by friendly aircraft it is not ended.

its my opinion as a tank dweeb and a jabo dweeb that it is more fun for both sides if no one person can unbalance and end the fight completely.

Lazs,

Furballs are fun when they arent so big that the numbers cause lags & warps (IMO).

Hording bases with mass numbered steamrolls IS & will always be.. BORING. Just as much fun as watching ice melt or paint dry.
Hording has become the staple of the meek MA pilot, & the main reason I often contemplate leaving the game. Its a good thing I was made CO of my squad or I'd have quit several months ago, When the CO quits, it hits the whole squad.

Now back to the thread-
I like the map when people fly it with the intent of playing the game. Every map sucks when people are GAMING the game. Horde rhymes with Bored- Nuff said.

aclown.. a furball is not a "horde".. it is at least 2 fairly equal hordes fighting each other..

the "horde" is the people you admire.   those playing the game "as it should be played"... one huge horde gangbanging a base(s) to "win" realestate and kill defensless ai.

The center isle was like putting bases closer together even tho they were GV bases..  this has been tried before but with little imagination..  fester thought it out and changed the types of bases/towns... in effect.. he made it so that the fights took place somewhere between aircraft bases.   planes could fight or exit the fight even if they didn't happen to be girly grey or peee 51's.  The late war "game the gamers" had to face mobil ack if they wanted to get at the low planes.

This was a great map.  What made it great was furball island.

I probably suffer from ADD, but I hate the maps where I have to fly a long way to a sector where the darbar looks good, only to have the red line fade away as I arrive.

Thirty minutes later I have taken a nice round trip flight without engaging anything.

sickbird... you are exactly right and that is why, if given the oportunity, "90%" of the players will go where there is a a good fight.

The enemies of fun and sky accountants know this so lobby for fields to be far apart and late war planes and gangbanging the only option.   They want to catch you while you are nodding off.

The map seems to be the perfect MA map. It has a huge furball in the center w/ GVs & AC, which provides quick access to action for both. And on the outside of the map you have the perfect area for the hordes to play "trading bases". Now if we could just get rid of those ever previlent warps & lags in the huge furball, we may have the recipe for a succesful AH arena.  --- Can only mean AH2 is right around the corner. My prediction--- 2weeks:rofl

Laz, the horde may be who YOU look up to as for how the game should be played, but I assure you- Many people play this game looking for actual combat. Not just dropping bombs/troops on undefended bases, or having 15 fighters chase 1 con. I am sure some players seek to actually improve their ACM by fighting against others in relatively even numbered fights. I should know, I'm one of them.
