By automobiles. This is an icrease over the previous year with the fastest growing reason being SUVs and rollovers.

Alcohol was a factor in 40% of the fatalities.

didn't we outlaw alcohol once? yep.. you see a mom with 3 kids in the mini van or suv going abourt 85-90 with one hand pressing the cell phone to her ear and then trying to steer with her knees while she yells at precious.... damn dangerous suv's!

by contrast... from 1995 to 1999... an average of 48 children under the age of ten were killed accidentaly by guns per year. Those drowning in buckets of water in the backyard were higher.

how many people died because someone was stoned on pot? I would say a couple of hundred at least maybe a thousand a year if you subscribe to the notion that being impared contributed to the accident.
