U.S., Iraq Generals Reach Tentative Deal
(AP) - U.S. Marines negotiated a "tentative" agreement Thursday to pull back forces from Fallujah, a deal that would lift a nearly monthlong siege and allow an Iraqi force led by a former Saddam Hussein-era general to handle security. Fresh clashes broke out despite news of a pending deal, and U.S. warplanes dropped bombs on insurgent targets. Ten U.S. soldiers and a South African civilian were killed in attacks elsewhere, including eight Americans who died when a bomb hit as they tried to clear explosives from a road south of Baghdad.

Thats It let those idiots screw up what just cost oveer 100 American lives to acheive.

The Arse kicking aint done yet and once again the panzy arsed politicions have tied the hands of the military.

Freekin morons in washington really need to let the generals there call the shots .

LOL and to turn it over to some arseclown who used to be one of saddumbs generals oh my GOD there a stroke of genius.

But waite theres more insainity!!!

The force, which would replace the Marine cordon and move into the city as U.S. troops pull back, would be led by a leading general from Saddam's army and include Iraqis with "military experience" from the Fallujah region, Byrne said.

It could even include gunmen who fought with guerrillas against the Americans — particularly ex-soldiers disgruntled over losing their jobs when the United States disbanded the old Iraqi army, another Marine officer said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Shoots.. have to agree with Mr. Blackman this time..

We’re putting the Iraqi Robert E. Lee in charge of the rebels..

Think about that for a minute...

Smart move. We cannot win.

That is unless we take a cue from our Israeli friends and just start building walls.

Of course, this wouldn't work well with the stated goal of liberating the poor oppressed people of Iraq.

My dad, which is a lifelong consrervative, is starting to sound like sandman.  this has me very concerned. he's 76 years of age and until about 6 months ago he seemed fine.  does that mean that when we approach the twilight of our lives we become anuses?

he feels that he won't vote in this election.  a first for him.  he feels that we will be garrisoning Iraq for years to come and he's concerned with the welfare of his grandchildren.  this from the guy who was even more disappointed than I that vietnam ended too soon and I didn't get to shoot a bunch of communists.

"Many people think old age is a disease, something to be thwarted if possible. But someone has said that if any period is a disease, it is youth. Age is recovering from it."
