OK Rip,

Some of your best friends are black too.  You still missed the point completely. Too bad, it could have been a learning experience for you.

What point?  The point that I was trying to make that racism is sometimes misinterpreted at cultural differences? No, you missed the point, sir.

And for the record, its "Black and Iranian"..two of my best friends, and co-workers.  Care to guess why we blend so well together? No cultural differences. ;) You might get a clue one day...but I doubt it. Too late.

The point is that you characterized a group of black friends as a "posse" when you would never do the same for a group of white friends. I think thats obvious.

I had to fill out an application the other day and one of the questions was If straded on an Island who would you want to be stranded with?

I picked Colin Powell.

Although on second thought Liv Tyler is lookin good these days.
Oh well back to the point.

I think he is one of the great minds of our time!
He has already given his country so much I can understand him wanting to give the rest of his time to his family.

It Is our lose but there gain.
I you sir where ever you may be You where and are a great American warrior yet humain .

I really would give anything to sit down with the man and hear what he has to say I could learn more in an hour from him than I would in ten years stumbling around here LOL.

I'm not playing a sport where you're a "role model" whether you like it or not, nor was my "posse" in question here. The only thing in question was perceived racism used as a crutch to get ones point across as you've attempted to do..hello...

Gang members in the NBA/NFL bother me , white or black or green or orange. Its the culture, not the color.

Didja ever do something stupid with your "posse" when you were a teenager or young adult Rip? Did people automatically consider you a "gangmember"?  I bet not.

hmmm ok  so are you saying that because Rip calls a group of guys that are hard core criminals (that happen to be black) a "posse" BUT doesnt call a group of guys that are hard core criminals (that are french) a "posse" he saying a racist comment towards blacks?

I just happen to believe more in personal responsibility for ones actions than Midnight. Thats what it comes down to once you boil all the rhetoric aside.

The answer to your question mosgood is yes. The remark is racist. It's as plain as the carpet on Rips garage floor.

Go back and read.. I said he wasn't in the original post.

The point is about the subtle forms racism takes that people don't even realize they are doing or condoning.
