Questions for Torque
« on: March 03, 2000, 02:12:00 PM »
Torque, I am curious about a few things.  Please dont consider this an evaluation meant to critique.  Rather, consider it a technical  evaluation meant to develope better insight into your particular flying and fighting style.

====
Typically, when you first log into the arena, what do you do? (please be specific, try to identify those procedures that you do by reflex...look at map, look at roster etc etc)

Typcially, do you restrict yourself to a single plane type?

Typically, do you restrict yourself to a particular loadout? (weapons, fuel)

Typically, once you are OTR, how would you describe an average sortie on the merits of the flight profile? (describe as if you were writing a mission debrief).
====

Fianlly, do not be intimidated by my request.  I admire your style and success.  I simply wish to capture a brief glimps of your mental picture online in AH as an educational matter.

If you prefer, please email your information to me privately.  I will not abuse the trust that a personal email would demonstrate.

LoL.

Yes, and would you be willing to submit to providing a urine sample before each flight to rule out the use of performance enhancing chemicals?

I have wondered too.
Much of this can be found in the score page, however.  In tour 1 he flew over 90% of his sorties in the F4U 1C.
2551 kills, 566 deaths, total.
2398 kills in F4U 1C, 464 deaths in F4U 1C.
Also a little N1K, C-47, and buff time.
I suspect his method is to fly smart, and well.

That Sonzabish can shoot too!  I have had alt on him several times and as I roll over to dive on his six some well placed 20MM removes the rear of my aircraft.  I find it REALLY Aggrivating.

Alot like getting into an E-Fight with Hitech in a Pony.  I haven't run into HT in a 38 but I suspect I will.

Typically, when you first log into the arena, what do you do?

Squelch a few people on login that is about it.

Typically, do you restrict yourself to a single plane type?

I only fly Hawg now. AC just seems to blend well with me, plus I luv the forward view in Hawg (nice and clean no struts to obscure anything)

Typically, do you restrict yourself to a particular loadout? (weapons, fuel)

Full tank on a clear field, half tank on a vulched field, guns both at 500 Conv.

Typically, once you are OTR, how would you describe an average sortie on the merits of the flight profile?

Heh, check that all my bodyparts are still attached, change my shorts. There is no real average sortie (probably why I have a joystick monkey on my back).

I simply wish to capture a brief glimpse of your mental picture online in AH as an educational matter.

I just try to stay fast and dynamic especially with alot of bogeys around.
Big Blue trimmed at 350 IAS is a mean machine. The all-important Situational Awareness comes into play. Hence my post on board about View Modes. The ability to draw a 3D-image map in your head of all pertinent cons is a plus.

Actually to tell the truth the things that helped me to be a better pilot are, you ready (rollerblading, skateboarding, skiing, kickboxing, and owning a pellet gun when I was a kid). Weird eh..

The first three help in the dynamics of a dogfight, the fourth focus all my strengths on opponent’s weakness, the fifth on cannon drop and hi-deflections shots.

ill say one thing you aint never taken off from a vulched field in your yellow assed life you vulcher/augerin scorehog.
you run from a fight 100% of the time and all repeat all of you kills are based on a mistake in the hogs flight model and your patented "let my wingman get it so i can set um up" move,

ohh im sorry your most numeraly succesfull manuver is the "forever hammerhead a hog at 1k "  where he gets over a spawn point and some how dives in pulls up to a hammerhead and repetas ad infinitum. why ? who knows ,got hit to much as a kid or mama dressed him up as a girl  but it is all he does pull ths same 2 or 3 tricks religiously and auger if you got him simple sucessful and cold clean yellow   not to be mentioned in the same sentence with mitsu hang udie and even that bastard wardog they fight for a livin and help their wingy ( well maby not always wardog , but he flies a 51 what can he do hehe).

i felt it i said it and yea i will back it up
(i aint kiddin i personaly dislike this quake wannabe game ruiner)

Towd, how long haf yu had zees feelings?

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Towd-

Chill out, please. There is no reason for this type of vehement personal attack to be placed publicly. E-mail him directly if you feel the need, but this is like the open channel harrassment we sometimes see from people. You aren't doing anything but bringing discredit to yourself.

The truth of the matter is I've flown with/against Torque, and there is a simple truth; he's really good. I have seen him buried deep amidst multiple bogies near the apron of an enemy field. I've seen him in WB's do exactly the same thing. If you try and HO him he will hit you. If you turn your back he will kill you.

Torque and I have exchanged words before too, but you know what? He really is a pretty nice guy, but I had to put aside my competitive nature to see it. Don't you think this grudge you've carried has gone long enough? I think he has been pretty patient with this whole matter from what I've seen, and handled himself with class. Can't you just ignore him if you dislike him so much?

Torque is an ok guy, I have talked to him to, its ppit from WB.  Checking his stats just give some interesting insights.  Its the guns.  6% gunnery isnt wonderful, its average.  Mines that to or maybe lower.  What helps that is the 1 ping lethality of the 1c, 6% gunnery wont hurt if all ya need to do is land 1 ping.  The enormous sortie totals dont hurt either.  I have been steamed many a times by the hawg HO's, but I have also done it many times to.  I cant fault a guy for using something that HT and pyro put into the game.  The 1c IMHO was a mistake to add, opens a whole can of worms on limited production aircraft being put into the game.  Its all good, just a game.  If ya must just hunt bish hawgs.  You know your in for a fight then.
