A whole new meaning to the word "recoil"
« on: June 08, 2004, 08:58:46 AM »
Smith and Wesson 340pd..  never thought a .357 could kick but this little 12oz. J frame Smith is something else!

rand a couple of cylinders of federals excellent 125 grain hollow points through this fist sized and cell phone weight little gun and....

muzzle blast that looks like a hirspray bomb and VERY sharp recoil...  Scared the 250lb 6'2'' guyt that was watching...

Think  I'll go do it again.

Nice thing is you don’t have to hit anything with it, the muzzle blast will take care of most perps.

I have a ported Taurus in my plane 2.75 inch bbl in stainless packed in  the survival kit with CCI shot shells and 125 gr HPs for, just in case.

I guess I could use it at night as a signaling device lol.

barrel is 1 3/4" on the PD.   I sent GTO a pic with the gun in it.  They even rounded off the normal Smith cylinder latch so that it doesn't cut your thumb on recoil (much).

On a comedic note.. it came with one fired case so that I could turn it into my local anti gun nuts to register so that if I committed a crime with the gun and then dumped all the empty cases on the ground at the scene... they could pick em up and match em with the one I had sent them.

No they didn't medic...  that is why I got the case instead of the do gooders...

I know a touch about recoil.   I have a chopped down 44mag redhawk (4") with stag grips (in the picture GTO has not posted yet even tho he said he would )...

The 44 mag rounds I shoot are 250 grain kieths at around 1300 fps.  I shoot 75-100 rounds out of the gun at a session but the little smith.... that is something else!

I will call it "the angry crickett".

This is a great gun to spring on the gun guys who think it is just a little gun.

It fits in a frontg pants pocket without even being felt or noticed.
