I'm an avionics installer / airframe wireman by trade. Learned to glide flying off a clifftop field in Yorkshire and did my PPL in the States. Uncle was killed in a tank in Italy at Monte Casino after going all through N Africa and Sicily.

Used to work on airships - coolest job I've ever had. Brother was captain who flew last Concorde into Heathrow after grounding.

PPL, no money now to fly (very expensive here), oncle's father was a scottish grunt in N.Africa and Italy, Grandfather was Fascist officer survived hiding for more than one year (after war there was a search for the fascists to kill them), father was witness of the fights freeing Naples from Germans (he was 9), BEFORE the Allies enter (he refuse to talk about, bad memories), a good friend was grunt in Wermacht (dead now  ).

I did skydiving briefly just before getting rated as pilot, put my money into that intead... intend to get back into jumping someday.
About 10 years ago I flew wingman/Best Man in a formation helicopter wedding that my uncle had... he and his bride and the JP were in the middle ship, with 2 helis winging him. Lotsa fun, it was on CNN at the time.
