While I abhor what this teacher did... airgaurd had an interesting point. Florida has no problems convicting 14 year olds for murder as adults. Is the State being hypocritical here?

If she is convicted, then she should have her teaching license revoked permanently.

But jail time? I don't think that she's a threat to society. I'd let her off with probation.

the actual age of consent is not the point. If you don't like 14 then say it.

the point here is that most of you see nothing wrong with sex with minors so long as it is a minor male having sex with an adult and.... my guess is that it has to be an adult female before you give your snikering blessing tho.

this is a lighter story... thats probably why most folks are having some fun with it. There is something wrong with "abusing" a position of authority to foster an inappropiate relationship however, it will go down as urban legend instead of child abuse to most folks.

This is small potatoes compared to what happened here in AZ yesterday. a 24 year old man was arrested for repeatedly having sex w/ a 9 year old. He impregnated her.
