I thought I was going nuts, Silat...

My CH hotas setup response since patch 5 has some unknown weirdness to it. I just don't know what it is. I'm not using CH Control Manager (always gone direct). Between the stuttering and the control responses being so slow, I've managed to shoot no one down (proxy kills only) and get shot down by every newbie - regardless of plane type or e status.

:(

And I thought I was having problems...guess I should be thankful I can at least get one or two kills despite the stutters.

Question for Silat and Rolex.

What OS are you using?  98SE?

If using 98SE.....you using gameport or USB?

Thinking this might be a soundcard gameport issue involving 98SE and the new patch.

@ Hajo: All USB setup. WIn98SE

@ Silat: I've noticed random delays when switching tophat views.

I'm confidant HTC will get the stuttering and any other problems resolved. If they can't replicate any problem though, it's like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Rolex,

I just got rid of CHManager and am testing tonight. I hope that solves my problems and can help with yours.

Deleted CHCtlmgr and remapped js, throttle and rudder pedals. I noticed a great improvment in device response!

CH Ctrlmgr is only necessary if you wish to map macro or multi-key functions. CH info reads that it's required for the devices for function, but apparantly that is not the case for AH.

Thanks for the info Silat!

Hmm.........

Well I have the full HOTAS and Pedals.  I use the CM to "straighten out the JS assignments.  For some odd reason, only known to MS operating systems, My Throttle ends up as Controller #1, FighterStick is Controller #2 and Pedals are Controller #3.  If I left it this way I lost the ability to have the View Hat on the Fighter Stick.  Maybe I didn't mess with it enough!  The CM orders them correctly and I can take advantage of all hats and buttons.

I have no control issues.  Smooth as silk and never lose inputs or calibration?

Sounds like you all fixed your problems but FWIW,  I have CH USB stick and throttle, with TM Peds (not usb).  set up thru AH, no CH manager and everything works fine except the mouse control on the throttle and that is only due to the fact I got tired of mapping all the buttons.

Since the release of 5 my Evo (used with CH Pro Throttle USB) appears to be inputting eratically...lots of nose bounce, prone to stall spins, etc. I'm also getting a .5 second delay when firing guns. At first I thought the stick was getting squirraly, now I'm not so sure.

BTW, the stick show's as being A-OK in WinXP CP's and AH2 joystick window.

Any ideas on what's causing this?

Patch 5 "pooched" alot of players and a lot of different things.  I would wait and see.  I'm just betting that HTC will solve this.

Hmmm I'm using a CHPro setup ...

stick and pedals are analog and the throttle is USB.  I can't use the crtlmanager with this setup.  I do use speedkeys.

No problems here......

When I do, or have, run into problems with stick setup I delete the old CFG and redo from start.  Seems to take care of everything.

W98se  (XP and it's virus/trojan/worm problems is not something I want right now)  Plus the output for new stick/pedals and XP etc. etc. is not something I wanna put out right now as my monitor is acting up.

I also confess I was very disappointed at what I preceived as MicroSoft's arrogance in the decision to delete the analog controls and controllers.  If someone would care to give me a good reason for this action I would thank them.  Kinda gettin fed up with this planned out money makin thing.  Vid cards .... PCI was better then ....  AGP was better then ...  Now it's super PCI ....  then what super AGP?

Analog was better then digital was the claim a few years ago then the claim is DIGITAL!!!!!  geeeezzzz  all this is gettin old :(

I grant some changes are very good (USB has some excellent things about it) but some seem to be more for the money they make then anything else.

There got my annual M$ rant out and should be OK for awhile .

May go to Linux,  keep thinkin about it, yep may go to Linux...........

Asus MB A7V8X-X
AMD 2500+ Barton
ATI9800 Pro 128
SBPCI512 soundcard ( onboard MB sound causes problems and need the card for analog port. )

bios version 1009 (there is a 1010 but everything works right now)
latest via 4 in 1
latest Cat driver
Sound driver is dated 1999 and nothing newer at the SB site.

Hope this helps :)
