Libs here is your man - LOL

'Heart wrenching plea'

But some of Edwards' critics say that as a trial lawyer, he relied more on his verbal skills than the latest scientific evidence to persuade juries that the doctors' mistakes had been instrumental in causing the cerebral palsy in the infants.

Edwards' trial summaries "routinely went beyond a recitation of his case to a heart-wrenching plea to jurors to listen to the unspoken voices of injured children," according to a comprehensive analysis of Edwards' legal career by The Boston Globe in 2003.

The Globe cited an example of Edwards' oratorical skills from a medical malpractice trial in 1985. Edwards had alleged that a doctor and a hospital had been responsible for the cerebral palsy afflicting then-five-year-old Jennifer Campbell.

'I have to tell you right now -- I didn't plan to talk about this -- right now I feel her (Jennifer), I feel her presence,' Edwards told the jury according to court records. "[Jennifer's] inside me and she's talking to you ... And this is what she says to you. She says, 'I don't ask for your pity. What I ask for is your strength. And I don't ask for your sympathy, but I do ask for your courage.'"

Edwards' emotional plea worked. Jennifer Campbell's family won a record jury verdict of $6.5 million against the hospital where the girl was born -- a judgment reduced later to $2.75 million on appeal. Edwards also settled with Jennifer's obstetrician for $1.5 million." <- which eddie boy got 33% of for his acting

he is an ambulance chaser... he and his ilk are responsible for about half of the current health care costs.

The only way that national health can work (and it can't work really) is if they make it illegal for lawyers to do what edwards did for a living...

pretty ironic huh?

Wow. He sounds like an attorney. What a suprise. So instead of the family getting nothing from the hospital for harming their daughter, they were able to make them pay. Sounds like a guy who's done his job.

HALLIBURTON

How much would you want to be paid to drive supplies or provide services to our troops in a warzone?  what does halliburton spend to get those supplies there?

I heard that pinhead Ferraro stating that the Gov't was paying $45.00 for a case of coca-cola.

What the devious dem did not mention was it was in Iraq.

People like you don't understand seem to able to grasp the obvious otherwise you wouldn't be liberals.

I would gladly continue paying six figure salaries to truckdrivers willing to risk their lives to supply our men and women in the field as opposed to having the comic duo gut the military and give the money to people like......redtail.

Ferraro also failed to mention that it was an Arab country charging it and that Haliburton refused to pay it.

No lawyer ever awarded money to anyone. Those verdicts came from a jury... of OUR peers.

100% wrong connotation, Buffy...as usual...and about as far off course as one dolt can ever possibly be. I think you're losing brain matter with every manual ejaculation you give yourself...not too many rounds left in the clip, I reckon.

but mt... if we are to have national health we will have to limit these awards gotten by and handed out by "our peers" against the evil... oops the benevolent health care system.

Will doctors suddenly become more competent?  will pain and suffering suddenly be less of an issue or.... will no lower chance for profit simply mean less chance for poor suffering victims to get those deserved multi million dollar settlements?

How much does canada spend on lawsuits?  do their people suffer less than ours?

OK.

Of course ... limiting lawsuit awards is kinda hypocritical for you "keep government regulation to a minimum" republicans. I mean it's all about the free market.. isn't it?

Another point. Are you guys really trying to denegrate a lawyer for trying to get the maximum amount for his client. If he hadn't he would be guilty of malpractice himself.
