USA Bashing
« on: July 12, 2004, 04:12:20 AM »
I'm curious why there are so many threads dedicated to bashing the USA?

Would it appease everyone if the USA was an isolationist country?
We sure as hell wouldn't have to worry about Foreign Policy now would we?  Just let all of the worlds countries take care of their own problems.    We just mind our own business and let the rest of world hash out their own problems.   No more foreign aid.
Sure would save us American taxpayers alot of hard earned wages.

People elsewhere simply didn't find the Iraq war justified with the reasons it was started for.
Neither did they like the bush administration acting like a bunch of dolts towards other nations.
For example Bush literally called the french decision to not join the war as "silly" and so on forth, as if he would've had any say to wars which they participate.

That doesn't raise many supporters for his administration.

Overall I doubt the USA bashing is directed against the people or the nation itself, it's more the fault of Bush administration and their lies to start a war and all the BS hes said.

What comes to these forums, if you haven't noticed, many americans have been bashing french back and forth, along with other europeans.... even calling them anti-american!
So before you just wonder why theres USA bashing (in these forums), you should really consider all whats said by the americans themselves.
Some american posters here haven't been exactly the best at being polite...
French bashing alone was far worse than USA bashing - in the forums most of the aggressive bashing out of nowhere was against euros and french.

For example I could've said a thing of US politics and I've been marked as anti-american or had a reply where they bash euros due this and that.

I don't really have anything against the people, it's just the bush administration whish I dislike and some of the political yahoos who knows nothing but what Bush has told them and doesnt know what an 'anti-american' even means, but yet often uses the word.

It is not USA bashing. It is against the US goverment and its foreign politics. Some people here refuse to see that and make it into more than it is.

I think when Bush said "You're either with us or you're with the terrorists" ticked off a lot of people/nations.

I've met plenty of amurricans and had quite good time with them; last were a B-1 crew member and a crippled vet when multinational WWIIOL squad had a meeting in Sweden.
It's just that your prez and the jesters surrounding him are a fools and liers.

If the prez causes all this animosity to come out in the open instead of the normal fake butt smootching then I'm all for him.

If the euros on this board want kerry then that should be enough for any American to vote Bush next election.

No bashing, just disagreement for the most part.

Of course disagreement is taken AS bashing by most Amuricans.

Hell.... you don't have to be a foriegner to be labeled anti-american.  There's a lot of people on this board that will label americans as anti-american if they don't perscribe to their point of view.
