Back in beta when the Aces High community was maybe 500 - 1000 people, with perhaps 50 - 60 online at any given time. We had time to learn who it was that was around us.
I mean there were like 100 knights that I could count on seeing on a weekly basis.
You could pretty quickly learn who was good, who was so so, who would clear your 6, etc. It became second nature to help those who helped you. And we each learned not to kill steal from each other. The community quickly learned to police itself mostly through peer pressure.
Multiply that by 1000 and your talking a whole different animal. Multiply a big black carpenter ant 1000 times then let me see you step on his head & squish him! Can't be done, he'd cut you in half.
Same thing here. The community has gotten so big you can't possible keep up with who's who. No one cares what your opinion is. No one cares if you don't like kill stealers & swearing.
Aces High has gone from the small rural hamlet to the Big Apple in 5 years.
As such it is incredibly powerfull, ONCE you get it aware of a problem. But for the most part it is a sleeping giant.
The only solution is for people to stand up & be counted WHEN IT COUNTS!
When its flagrent kill stealing, call em on it on country channel. People will remember. When its swearing and someone else asks them NOT do to that, back that person up.
Squelching a channel is like turning your back, pulling your hood over your head, and blending back into the crowd.
Stand up for what you believe in. Its not easy, its not always popular. It does get you respected eventually.
