Yep. HT has asked numerous times for post like this not to be done here.
Film it or get a screenshot, send it to Skuzz. Problem solved.

exactly, and I almost did just that.  Had I not made nice with the guy/girls CO, I would have most certainly sent it in.  I, as his CO put it, "gave 'em a break".

The POINT of my post wasn't to flame one guy/girl, (why i won't post the player name.  HT has asked not to do that), but to ask if we as the community can resolve this.  I am very encouraged by some of the responses.  I for one curse all the time, but never in public, or around potential children.  If i see a squaddie getin' out of line, I call 'em on it.  You will frequently see me type "(insert cpid) please watch language) I would just like to see others help.

This is just an idea...dunno if it can be implemented in the gamecode cause i know nothing about these things:

Can the server save/scan the textbuffers? if so it should be possible to "flag" sertain words and save the text and who wrote it for the HTC staff to deal with.

OK, so maybe yer not a rook. But I assure you that killstealing, & check6 to drag somone off, are ALOT LESS COMMON in target rich environments.  I am positive of this.

Can we keep MA politics out of this?

This behavior is less common in a target rich environment for lack of time, not for lack of intent.

Creative use of vulgarity is an art form seldom practiced anymore.

No it's not.  The other night I had some moron steal my kill in a furball over some Rookie base.  I had blown off both wings and the tail off of a Spitfire V and was watching what remained slowly flutter to the ground.  Then here comes the Uber-1337 Knit-twit diving down and made not one but two passes on the dead Spitfire V and stole the kill from me.  I suggested to this Knit-twit that he go to the TA and learn how to fight so he wouldn't have to resort to stealing other player's kills because he's incapable of getting his own.  This lead to a barrage of vulgar insults from this twit.  I got my little pay back as I used this Knit-twit the rest of the night as my personal bait and I would also wait until he was engaged with an enemy and then swoop down and kill the enemy.

I also have another one on film where I clear this other Knit-twit's six only to have him swing around and try to steal my kill of a wingless enemy plane.  Karmic justice intervened when the Knit-twit augered trying to steal the kill.

I must be confused, I thought the thread was about "lack of class" I didnt realize it was specific to vulgarity.

(Steve Martin voice)WELL, EXCUUUUSE MEEEEEEE :D

But I do think this type of behavior is non-sporting, weak and falls along the same lines as all the mindless hording that can be seen at any time the MA is somewhat active.  I guess the masses dont want to challenge themselves. They tend to follow the path of least resistance, & lash out with vulgarity anyone who points them out as such.

Personally im REALLY glad HTC advertised on international television (dripping with sarcasm). Now we have an endless supply of foul mouthed, simpletons playing and acting like a bunch of 12YO delinquents. Air Quake anyone?

I usually deal with kill stealers by asking them why they shot up an obviously dead aircraft. If they respond politely, then it's all good. Sometimes we dont see the same thing on our monitors. (lag)

If they respond negatively ie....*You shouldnt leave anything for me* (had someone tell me that once after I shot the entire tail section off an enemy plane). In cases like those I simply respond by telling the individual to not expect my help when they are in trouble. They usually just laugh at me when I say that, until they are in trouble and I circle above them watching them die :)

Another individual that I know from AirWarrior days used to follow me around shooting up all of my kills. I generally aim for a wing or the tail and attempt to do lethal damage w/o blowing the enemy plane up. This conserves ammo but still gets the job done. I just dont speak to this individual anymore. When he says Hi Elfie I type /.squelch name :) This particular individual was so bad about it I actually went to the extreme of using killshooter against him a couple of times. He doesnt follow me around anymore  :)

not sure how you would poll where this activity occurs most often. But I can say that I switched from Rooks to Bish BEFORE the ENY change for these exact reasons. As a rook with huge numbers it was extremely common for me to have kills stolen as the OBVIOUSLY UNFLYABLE plane spiraled to the ground, sometimes 2 times a flight. When I switched to Bish it was a nite & day difference.

I'm sure that these types exsist in all 3 countries, but the opportunities for them to act this way are definately more prevailant in target poor environment.

I appreciate your discretion flyingaround, it would seem that even the best of us have our moments. There have been times I myself have said some pretty crappy things to other players, but it reminds me of a fight at school, a few days later (when the swelling goes down :D  ) the combatants are playing together again. There is never a good reason to blow up or loose control, and get verbally abusive, but it happens from time to time. Sometimes the quickest way to resolve issues like this is to take that first step, if you see him on a few days later, even if the other player was wrong, say something like "Sorry about that (insert comment here)", only the most fiendish of players wouldn't recognise the effort to patch things up. We all have our moments.
But now in regards to kill stealing, if the plane still has icon, you better hope I don't get in on it before you finish them off ;)

The best ways to solve a kill stealer is to follow him and force a killshooter shot or make him auger on landing. They soon learn.
