so, i have been back in the air for less than a week now and here are a few of my experiences

-Day 1-
 -listening to country mate yelling at people trying to defend base, saying 1/2 need to join flight school

-watch someone try to make a goon mission, i say dont because of problems in the past, i was told that i need practice on how to cap a field.

-watching endless whines and cries of people calling others *homo* and 1 stick stir comment

-had some fun with lok and atilla:)

-Day 2-

-logged on quick, and on my first flight i end up low, but with alt.  i look behind and see 2 spits and a 190 chasing.  hmmm, good chances in my yak 9t.  so i extend hoping that some would quite chasing me, though i would have reversed with somewhat even odds.  i look at ch 200, some mouth piece yelling at me to turn and fight, blah, blah, blah.  finally i say fug it, the mouth piece was 800 of my 6, with still another high spit, prolly 2-3k above.  dodge a few passes, finally turn and die, np, i dont really care.

-EXPLOSION on 200, "trippy you suck"  and so on (i also think he called me a *homo* cant remember due to the amount), really quite retarded.

-look back up on ch.200, more people calling others *homo's*, must be popular phrase.

now i know people will say i dont have to tune to 200, but i like some of the conversation, is quite funny at times:)

why do i feel that i should have to run my film 24/7 to catch these idiots.  i mean if someone from HTC came on and watched that ch. for 15 minutes a day, they would have alot of people to warn or whatever they do.  for me it is really ruining a great game, with some great folks who fly.

-on side note, i remember a day, prolly 2 years ago, when i had just got into a fight with a good stick.  he promptly told me on private channel how bad i was (quite funny really).  after explaining to me how bad i was, he then sent me some films, and gave me pointers to help me.  he gave this freely, i didnt even have to ask:)  he DID NOT, flame on ch 200, or country channel, as i see today.  Thanks Silat

honestly the insults don't bother me, i dont play to be #1, nor to i listen to all these guys who claim how good they are, i know who the good pilots here are.  it's just AH is losing/lost a great community, and i i where a newb i think i would just quit after some of the things i hear.  all because i dont run film alot.

Welcome back, even if your beginning predates mine! My answer to this is to never listen to ch 200. Never. I used to squelch 1 anyway. I don't have to deal with the juvinile behaviour, or the nasty personal comments. It's a nicer world for me

I had the same experience with Silat a few months back when I had first started.  After shooting me down a couple of times, he felt sorry for me and offered to send me some help materials.   What a class act!

Compare Silat's behavior with that of the ones who have to tell obvious newbies that they suck and can't fly, etc., just to try and build up their own egos.  Without people like Silat out there, there would probably be a lot less new people who survive the learning curve and stick around to provide targets for the vets.

I have a tendency, if I even bother to respond, which I usually don't until.... to tell the channel 200 types that say turn and fight that i'll preform my ACM how ever I want as it's my $14.95 and I do not consider their acm suggestion worth a F*RT in a hurricane.

Been watchin some of this.  The ALT-F4 crowd, the screamers that want everyone to fly the way the screamer demands - which is turn in front of their guns nice and slow and die.

If ya gotta respond .... don't  just call out on country and see if anyones near,  and willing to help, and drag em to a friendly.  If not keep draggin em out till you at least have an even chance and then give em an answer and talk with guns


Oh and to Silat  Who is always willing to help!

and not trying to be buttheads, or mabey they are.

Or when the excuses come in.  If i wasn't in this plane......if you didn't have all that alt........  If you are in the wrong plane DON'T FLY THAT PLANE IN THE FIRST PLACE !!

The internet offers sweet annoniminity that some people revel in too much.

So here's the deal guys...rather than expound on the shortcomings of other players, SET AN EXAMPLE. Let the rude comments settle into the dust. It's really all that simple. Sure...there will always be pinheads looking to stir the pot up on Ch 200 or wherever they may find a voice. The more responce they get, the more they'll continue.
