Ya I know.. It was just such an obvious lie though.. hehe  I thought at least SOMEONE would care.. Maybe even Tweety might rethink his position from damning Edwards b/c of a tactfully played 'gay' card if brought to lite cheney's blatent lying..

seriously guy... His wife wispered to him "yes you did meet him at that prayer thing rememeber?"  and he said "oh yeah... unmemerable little watermelon ain't he.. thought he was a televeangelist or something... my mistake"

It has happened to all of us... or should have by now... I think most voters realize that.   nit picky apartment dwelling liberals have time for that sor of nit picky stuff no one else cares.

His point was that he never seen the guy at work.   and since they botjh had the same job in the same building... get it?

add this to the damning ".org" instead of "dot com" and you have someone out of their mind... next he will be claiming he was in cambodia Xmas time during the war in vietnam!

It has not happened to me. Apartment dwelling liberals? Gd lazs! Your getting very specific with you hate. Are you getting old and fear you are running outta time to hate the masses so you hate a smaller target now?  No one else cares? Thats BS.. Do you consider yourself 'that elite' that you could answer for all the other people? What total BS........

BS.. That was not his point.. Point is Cheney has been at 2 Senate meetings in 4 years. Edwards' voting record is right on par with total number of votes cast. Perhaps he missed the meetings but he cast the vote..  Edit: Also we dont see Edwards lying to make up for short comings.

Really lazs.. Please let us know who you are hating on.. I'm not sure if you mean Edwards or Cheney here. The fact that it makes absolutly zero sence is beside the point..

dude... the apartment dwelling liberal is the support group for kerrie.... look at an electorial map... he only takes large population city dwellers as a rule.

seriously... it is a nit picky thing.... if you want to find lies by both parties there are a lot bigger whoppers out there.   I would put this one down as an honest mistake that had a lot of truth to the core of it...

kerrie said he is a friend of the hunter but the way he likes to hunt deer is "crawling around on his belly with a double barrel shotgun"   you probly won't get this one... In Bush country this is a real knee slapper.

there is a fundamental difference in the city dweller and those who do everything to get away from the city dweller...  Cityu dwellers are the women of the past few decades... they have different needs and wants for America.   Open your eyes and look at the electorial vote maps for the last few elections.

I see..  I have never thought about a base group of people like that.. Personnaly I live in a house that myself and my father built a large portion of..

Ya.. I see the BS in the 'on your belly w/ a shotgun' bit.. I have never lived in a large city. Well, Pensacola, Fl is kinda large. That would be the biggest for me. I grew up in a small rural town in NW florida. I camped, hunted, fished, and camped some more. I've hunted pretty much every type game animal in the SouthEast..  My highschool grad class was 48 people.. lol Pretty small..  I'm not so sure about 'Bush country', but in the country Kerry's statement would not be perfectly correct. Perhaps if he'd thrown in some type of treestand or runnin dogs (my now hated form of hunting) in his comment.. But his actual point, I think, was not far from the mark. Perhaps, even if it seems inefficent, it is really what he likes to do.. haha

lazs, I do see what you are saying. I have, to the best of my ability, stopped looking for 'fundamental differences' in people. That type of thinking, IMO, leads to nothing better than segregation and  the tearing down of group harmony. I instead, (bleeding heart liberal here I guess) attempt for the most part to find common groud. In my short stay here (on earth) I have come to believe there is always a better way..

For the most part from Americans, I do not see differences. I instead try (it is hard sometimes) to hold to the belief we all want a better America..

dude... I think we all want a better America or... at least one that is not worse.

I can see the similarities in people too but a person would be blind if they didn't look at voting patterns and see huge generalities.

In general, for the most part, mostly, allmost allways... however you want to put it.... people in large populated areas vote fundamentaly differently than rural people.

Is it  possible that some do not fit the mold?  certainly but... the generality holds.

I believe that the country has fundamental differences and desires that form along city/country lines.   to say differently is to say that 9 out of ten blacks voting democrat is a coincedence and the result of deep thinking.

I simply call a spade a spade (the shovel not the racial group).

The "lie" that is the subject of this farce of a thread is a mistake... it is a common mistake and he admitted it was a mistake when his wife reminded him... it is, like the .org one... a very easy mistake to make... I think the red states and counties understand this.

to preach it as a lie may get support from the choir but it simply makes the left appear petty and silly to everyone else.

further... every big city I have ever been to is a noisy, confusing, filthy dung hole full of rude and self absorbed a holes.

What they want for America is not what I want for America.   I don't want to solve their self made problems with my freedoms and taxes...

conversly... they want me to solve their problems with my freedoms and money (we shoot each other here too much so lets take away the country folks guns).

They probly don't want to pay for my very different problems.

Where then lazs, is his public statement correcting himself?? He met the man 3x at least! And as you would like to think, Edwards is not a waiter. Admittedly I had not really heard of him before the election, but obviously Edwards has been around. Too believe Cheney would not remember him is ... well BS too me..  The fact that Cheney could have made is valid point without the lie speaks mulitudes to me.. Lets not forget that Cheney knew all too well Edwards attendance, but didnt know the man?? BS BS BS.....

Everyone else? There you go again lazs! Pointing out a lie is petty now? If it is so petty, clearly Edwards must have told some lie about Cheney? What was it??

I don't think it was a lie... I think it was a mistake.   I do not say that Cheney never told a lie... I just don't think this is the case here.

It is not Cheney or me or even edwards that is being petty here it is you and those who make a big deal out of a simple mistake.   sheesh... there must be something better for you to wring your hands over out there.

lazs, Edwards is running for Cheney's job and he had a debate with him.. Can you honestly think that Cheney would put no more thought into Edwards to the point of going to debate him and believe he had never met him?? I could understand had he only met him once and Edwards was not a member of the Senate. They have met, exchanged words, and/or shook hands on at least 3 seperate occasions. Others remember who Cheney has meet before Cheney does? Tim Russert for one.. I will never be convinced it was a simple mistake and he did not mean to be dishonest to make a point hit harder.

I guess we will never agree but...

It just seems like someone of Cheney's darth vader like malicious wit would have known that such an easily disproved lie would not have gone undetected..

That would make it seem like a simple, understandable misstake to most folks.

That or utter contempt for the American people.

I do believe Cheney to be a smart person. That is precisely why I cannot believe he could not remember meeting someone of Edward's stature and not remember.. Three TIMES at least..
