Kenyan ecologist Wangari Maathai, the first African woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize, today reiterated her claim that the AIDS virus was a deliberately created biological agent.

"Some say that AIDS came from the monkeys, and I doubt that because we have been living with monkeys (since) time immemorial, others say it was a curse from God, but I say it cannot be that.

"Us black people are dying more than any other people in this planet," Ms Maathai told a press conference in Nairobi a day after winning the prize for her work in human rights and reversing deforestation across Africa."

Wotan - you've yet to show me a statement of hers which directly states that AIDs was created to kill off Africans. Your first article does not say that. You say she had said it before - I'd be interested in seeing that.

As Prof Wangari Maathai received praise from President Kibaki and other Kenyans, she courted controversy on the issue of HIV/Aids and human rights.

Responding to questions from Asian and European media, the minister said although she had no proof, she felt that HIV/Aids targeted Africa.

"I want to dedicate the prize the African woman. I want to hold and embrace her. She has suffered so much and I feel this is an honour to her.

"Although I am a biologist, I have not done any research. I may not be able to say who developed the (HIV) virus but it was meant to wipe out the Black race," she said.

When she first blamed the HIV/Aids on "some sadistic scientists," the professor kicked a storm, leaving some experts outraged and others supporting her.

Initially, said Maathai, HIV/Aids was only concentrated in selected spots in the continent, only afflicting the "undesirable classes".

As I said she has made this type of statement before, a quick internet search will produce all you need. If you need verification of what am I claim she has said than all you need to do is type in "Maathai AIDS" in a search engine.

As you can see by McGroin's post that his search confirmed exactly what she has said previously. She claims that AIDS is a man made disease that was developed as a bio-weapon and it has been targeted against blacks.

For example, Nobel laureate Linus Pauling claiming Vitamin C cures cancer. Or some high school dropout rock star talking about politics.
