Jackal, I tried that before when I got a refubbed X45 and found out that the under the rubber boot there is no ball to get to as there is a disk in the way. It would take some good wigglin to get to it but I've disvovered it's not the ball, its the plastic cup at the bottom of the spring and the circle ring around it. Its direct friction and I've tried lube and all. I am thinking of just either cutting the springs as I believe they are putting too much resistance on that disk against the ring edges.

Worst comes to worst, I ditch the stick and become a bomber pilot with my mouse

returned a dozen or so saicrap's
and a dozen or so logitech's

dont you read the bb, i posted it like 3 weeks ago

if your gonna buy a good stick be prepaired to spend good money.

if you dont want to spend a lot a money then i suggest the logitech 3d rumble force(get the wingman series) its my second!

has 8way hat trick, twist rudder control, force feed back, centering spring and 7 programable button's.

all for around 70 bucks includeing shipping, because the only way i found it was online.;)

My Saitek always has problems with friction in the joystick between the cup and the ring around it. It groans and moans and it takes more force than neccessary to make slight adjutstments that will just make you over-adjust and send you into a stall....

RTSigma....may sound funny but i had this problem and put a dab of KY Jelly on it and its smooth as silk now :aok

Bud if you will just push the stick forward or to one side the spring will compress leaving you about an inch to work with.
Just slide the Q-tip under the boot with the valve and faucet grease, release and rotate the stick in a few circles and your set.

My original stick still works but not the hat switch. I'd donate that one to you if you would pickup shipping, i'm sure it can be cleaned or adjusted but I didn't want to fool with it. :aok

Is it the old style?  (Dial Throttle)?
