Actually... Trey Parker and Matt Stone would have something to say on this subject.  I'd tend to agree with them.

Once you choose sides in comedy, it no longer becomes comedy and turns to actually being outright bashing... though humorous.  It is rediculous to go to the "I was only joking" card afterwards.

crossfire like all "debate" shows are entertainment, also boring.

left side....."my side blah blah blah"

right side....."my side blah blah blah"

As for Stewarts numbers being down since the conventions and debate, no kidding. The show has been in reruns for 2 weeks would explain the numbers.
These "journalists" seem to be unable to understand TDS is a parody. These guys must think Stephen Colbert is really doing an expose on Mr. Goodwrench.

Daily Show was awesome... when Kilborn started it.
Stewart is riding this anti-Bush trend but it will fade, and with it, his fame.  Gimmicks only get you so far.

"MOYERS: When future historians come to write the political story of our times, they will first have to review hundreds of hours of a cable television program called THE DAILY SHOW. You simply can't understand American politics in the new millennium without THE DAILY SHOW.

For example, if you're my age, you no doubt remember the Lincoln-Douglas Debates as the epitome of political discourse. If you're a little younger, you were taught to study the Kennedy-Nixon debates for their revelation of strong opinions, strongly expressed.

But, Lincoln-Douglas, Kennedy-Nixon are nothing compared to a debate conducted recently on THE DAILY SHOW. Moderated not by Public Television's Jim Lehrer, but by a man many consider to be the preeminent political analyst of our time, the distinguished commentator and anchorman, Jon Stewart. Take a look."

"I am surrounded by such talented people that I literally, I can just sit there, and advance the script. I am Dr. Exposition on the show. I just advance the script and then they take it from there."

Damn you...Holden McGroin!:lol

Meanwhile Comedy guy is a wannabee news guy, and a bigger shill than anybody not on Fox or CBS.

Aww, Funkypants has a twist in his knickers. He's jealous Stewart is getting attention while his man-crush Kilborn is...where is Kilborn anyway? Oh yeah, he sucked and lost his show.

"Pretend" is the operative word there.

Just to prove the point to my 16 year old son we kept score one day last week.
Bashes on the right
to Bashes on the left

the show bashed the right over the left at a rate of 7-1

funny show yes. unbiased no

"stewart supporting kerry"

LOL why does this not come across as a startling earthshacking revelation?

Well yes and no.
I've long since noticed it. In fact to me it was obvious so I never needed to.
Was kinda like seeing the difference between it drizzle out side as opposed to a rain storm.
Dont need a measuring cup to tell you which one is going to produce more rain in an hour
that was just the only one I actually sat down and kept score to prove the point to my son
