Ha ha ha...WTG

The only problem I have with this is you run the risk of injuring a little kid that's not being political just being vandilous and doesnt know any better.  Yes his parents should have raised him better but still.

Wolf you continually prove that freedom of speech to liberals is only when you are bashing a president.  If this guy is will to shell out money when he gets sued for liability then that's his bag.

I think rips idea of dog poop is better though.  That and maybe attach one of thos mini sirens to it that have a ear peircing scream when it's moved.

Property is not freedom of speech, it's ownership.

You were talking about the sign being a freedom of speech, not the property.

Of course, you don't know how far the sign was placed - if he isn't trolling - from the edge of his property.

His freedom of expressing his support ends when he turns that expression into a weapon of sorts.

Why couldn't it be skunk spray? I'd use that, it's hell to get off too.

I took issue with your posts because you defend creating booby traps designed to injure with that paragraph you stated.

By that logic, anyone that wanders onto my property could be subject to a katana blade popping out of the ground.

Yes Ripsnort, that's it. Choosing a side is better, because then I can have my beliefs told to me.

I remember the post saying you were gonna do it, can't believe you actually did. That's pretty funny. Next time though, it might be better to put up the sign (w/o razors), and a wireless camera. D-Link makes some nice pan-tilt models packaged with a pretty good motion detector & time-lapse recording software. The first few times you're arrested, it's a whole lot scarrier than just needing some stitches imho. Plus, no razors = no liability. Don't get me wrong, the salamander deserved it, but lawsuits get expensive... probably more so than alittle revenge is worth.

You are correct that ownership is not an opinion. However he used his property to place a sign that expressed his opinion. Is this not permitted? Please explain how the person who (a) trespassed has the right to do so, (b) and  attempted to steal / vandalize said sign had the right to do so. How does the placement of the sign on the property owners own property  factor into the "right" to trespass / vandalize/ steal?

"Skunk spray" is also a weapon. Is that not a "bad thing" as well as the razor blade? Does the property owner have a "right" to skunk spray to defend their freedom of speach on their own property?

Lastly I did not defend the use of a booby trap. Re read the first line of my first post on this thread. Then re read the second line. I did not state the "defender" has no blame. I countered your implied position that the tresspasser / vandal / thief had no blame in this situation.

Now would you like my pliers to help get that darn hook out of your mouth???? ;)  :p  :)

I take offence to this, “crappy wood and crappy laminated paper”?

The firs sign was “inexpensive” thin gauged wire.

The second sign is steel, made to endure the weather, and used as a rent sign.  Now, the paper that is taped to it, I didn’t print it so I’m really not sure what the quality level is but it looks like they used good ink.

Staying the hell off of my property and letting me be is worth the stitches.  Tetanus shot?  I used new double edged blades right out of the box.  If I really wanted to be mean I would have covered them in my dogs crap before installing them.

It’s just stitches, tetanus shot isn’t necessary but always a good idea if you haven’t had one in the past 7 years LOL.

Oh, and about the quarter, the first sign cost me $8 plus shipping.  The steel for rent sign cost me a lot more.  Therefore from your reasoning with the baseball bat and the quarter; you actually condone my actions.  Thanks!

Zippatuh, I thought it was a crappy sign because that's all I see in my neighborhood. I actually have the luxury of waking up everyday to see a crappy Kerry sign that's about the size of a clothes dryer staring me in my face, mocking me that my neighbors are so gullible to believe his tripe.

I still won't agree with the unnecessary force, I don't see everything black and white so certain actions deserve certain consequences. Going for election year sign on your property, I think a nice stink that stays on them unless they take a bath in tomato paste is good enough.

Maverick, while trespassing is illegal - so are booby traps and vandalizing (actually, this would be stealing I think)... would they cancel each other out?

Even you know that there is a limit to force for each area. You can't shoot someone that wanders onto your property, but if they break into your home you can take them down.

Skunk spray is just a horrible smell, it isn't mace or pepper spray - how can it be considered a weapon?
