Why would you perk an LFXVIe Pongo?  It's essentially a 1943-44 Spit LFIX with an American built Merlin 266.

And the bubble canopy is really, really late war.  Late March, April 45 at earliest from what I can tell.  Regular  high back fuselage LFXVIs were going from shortly after D-Day.

Let's see here....
my favorite picks in BOLD

Mustang IA (P51B with 4 Hispanos)

P-40 F, K, M, or N in either AVG or 23rd AF colors (same unit, Flying Tigers)

Hawker Fury

Spit VIII LF

B-29 (no nukes, please)

P-47N

P-39

Mig-3 (I think)

Bristol Beaufighter

King Tiger (higher perk cost to kill Tigers with)

Just to clarify.  Mustang IA was the Allison engined version.  No 51Bs with 4 Hispanos in combat.

AVG didn't have F,K,M or N P40s.  F model had the Merlin and was used extensively in the MTO with the 57th, 33rd, and 79th FGs.  Very few in the Pac.

23rd would have had the Allison engined birds.
