Gool points Gixer. In Il-2, there are optional wind effects, rain, snow, etc. With wind on, it's quite testy trying to take off with torque envolved. Engines will overheat. You have cowl flaps to help keep your engine cooled. I do like the P-47 in Il-2 though. It will outdive anything and not start into mild compression till about 850 kph. That's another thing, all instrumentation and stats are in metric and that took a while to sink in after flying AH for so long. All in all Il-2 is more realistic than AH(IMO).
