I certainly hope we get more players.  A steady flow of new players is what keeps a sim healthy.

I am also glad that I am not a new guy coming into this sim.  There are so many good pilots in here, the learning curve for a newbie is going to be rough :)

tough getting new pilots..between system requirements and mediocre graphics..add in the skill requirements and newbs dont stay long. back to halflife they go. When i get guys to actually try it though on my system they like it..until frustration kicks in.

I wonder how much an few ad spots on the History channel would cost since D-wings is going bye-bye soon.

I don't have Wings anymore.. so no commercial :)

Damnit, I might want to join this game soon, ya know!? :D

D Wings is becoming Military channel. Not disapearing, just condensing aircraft shows and upping other topics. Id like to download it. Only thing I watch on TV now is Combat! and news. Mixed in with a few good classics (AMC)

I can vouch for that! I have more kills manning a 5 inch.  I get my head handed to me  flying. Of course I can't hit anything manning a field ack either.  Lessee,... if I can just salvage a 5 inch gun..and strap it to a P-38, underslung on the centerline...yeah! that's the ticket!

As for the learning curve, this is way different than Air Warrior was, back then I could hit sh...stuff. I think AW is still on my Amiga.  And yes, I still have my Amiga....and my C64....somewhere..

i dont got enough perkies as it is and i like upen my lancs to kill 1 dang t 34 or wirble its fun droping 42 bombs

Bring on the fresh blood ... muhahahahahaa

I dont mind training newbie's as long as they show enough interest ,and want to improve .  Just simple merge training really goes a long way with keeping them  interested in playing.

Don't worry, it will come back and probably a lot quicker than it took to get it the first time with AW. Welcome aboard!

Lye-El, it takes a little getting used to.. I remember when I first started all I flew was bombers until I ran into some guys and we did some fighter sweeps together and I started learning...now you can't get me out of fighters usually.  There are huge changes in AH gunnery, even from version 1 to version 2.  Just some tips that may help:  Never shoot at anything outside of 400, your chance of hitting something is terrible.  You have to pay attention to your convergence setting now because if you are inside the distance of your convergence your shots will hit high, and vice versa.  If you haven't done so already move your aimpoint up to the top of your gunsight, this will help you see snapshots better.

And just stay with it.. there are some great people here to learn from.
