Utgardloki, maybe he didn't phrase it well but that's basically my point- we teach our children it's OK to harm animals, (which is not my agenda, sorry) and all too often this behavior is transferred to humans (which is my agenda, thank you very much)

What does a five year old learn by watching the Coyote scheme against the Road Runner? Or Tweety Bird get eaten by Sylvester the Cat? Where does violence against other living beings start?

My grandsons, here for a visit, terrorized my cat- she was quick enough to get away and hide from them, but when you see Sylvester the Cat on the television getting tossed over a fence into a yard full of dogs then I understand exactly where the Twins learned this behavior.

Violence is violence, whether it's anime or not.Like I said, my concern is violence against humans, but it all starts with violence against animals, and your children learn this violence every Saturday morning on the television.

And I agree this kind of filth does not deserve to be on TV, I think they should outlaw all shows that show violence against animals and show only shows that are positive towards animals. Like Benji or Homeward Bound.

You guys are taking too lightly on this topic.

We got a expression over here that goes like this :"Monkey see Monkey do".

If children watch violent cartoons (and cartoons usually is about animals, wiht animal characters) then they in many cases will try to hurt the poor animals.

Mark.

Then you have FAILED as parents for not telling your kids the difference between right and wrong and that cartoons are make believe or just not allowing them to watch it in the first place....which doesnt do any good anyways.

At 1:30 CST (2 minutes) we should rest, regroup and attack again in a few hours. ;)

LOL, thank you guys, this has been fun to read. :D

Someone's been paying attention there:

This is an oddly moderated board. There are several referances to sexual matters in the recent threads (which is expressly forbidden, at least as stated in the posting rules), and yet those posters/threads are still around. Yet, those posters with even mildly different views when it comes to meat eating are banned. Hmmmmmm

I realize that most of the "legit" posters on this board are children and impressonable at that, being as young as most of them are. Makes ya wonder what the moderators are thinking!

from Mark's "I got banned because I discussed Animal Rights on another BBS" thread...
