well not saying we should guard against it but be concerned yes....

I allways think about my Sept 10th scenerio to remind me that anything is in fact possible.  I would however, agree with you that there are those in our govt that use this fear to further their agendas BUT, practicing and planning for the what ifs gives our "protectors" (used all inclusevly IE fire, police, mil. ect) develop decision making skills/experience if the situation does in fact arise.

A good point to make would be shipping containers in the ports.  It is not at all an easy feat to search every single one of them but to say that we can't do it so why try is recipe for disaster IMHO.

Really... first, it's not even a real threat. It's just speculation.

...and even if they did manage to blow one up, the "experts" can't agree that it would be a "weapon of mass destruction" or a "weapon of mass disruption".

IIRC, some middle east country (Iraq?) tested one, but then discarded it because it didn't do enough damage.

It's a good cattle prod though. It gets the masses all up in a lather. Meanwhile, little things like water supplies and cargo containers go completely unguarded.

Ridiculous isn't it?

We can't guard against everything, so why not create imagined threats to guard against...

BTW... I have a can of elephant repellant here on my desk. So far, I think it's working, 'cause I've never seen one near here.

More important, when the time comes, how the Hell are we going to get 10,000,000 illegal immigrants back across the border and to their country of origin.  Has anyone thought of that...?

If you figure 50 per Bus that 200,000 buses....   Do we have that many..?    I don't think so...

So what do we do?  March them across at gun point?   The UN's going to have a 'Hissy Fit' about that.....

Nothing is easy any more.....

Very true Sandman.

I think they could do more damage overall with plastic explosives and suicide bombers.

And the cargo ship thing..... no way can we search them all.

What I wonder is...... what will the US do if we receive another massive terrorist hit? I think we will seal the borders first, then possibly deny visas for certain groups known as "at risk"

I feel that another hit will come.....then it's all crazy after that. The US will get hit, no doubt in my mind. And with that thought, I wonder why we are not protecting our borders. It worries me.

Ya know... we could collect them all and put them in camps. Then, march them into showers (that really aren't showers) and put them quietly to sleep. It's best if we keep them for a few years and let the starvation sap the fight from them. Later, we can dispose of the bodies in these really large ovens...

...waitaminute... that's been done before and it didn't turn out well.

Sandman, could you explain why you want to kill the illegal imigrnants?   They've done nothing beyond entering the United States improperly.  Returning them to their country of orgin would be (to me) the best solution for everyone.

But then..., I'm not a Nazi...
