Do not jump the gun.

I've seen about 10-12 variations of how innocent situations - such as this may very well be  - get turned into complete mayhem in a split second. And I'm positive that there exists about 50 more.

For every act, there can be a myriad of motivations. Multiply that by the number of interpretations of both the act and the motivation behind it then multiply that by the number of people involved, and well.... I'd lay back and do some serious number crunching before I made a move.

Here's one scenario: Wife doesn't like husband spending any time whatsoever with his friend. Tells husband that the friend is hitting on her. Problem solved.

I am not the one insinuating a guys wife might be interested in fooling around.  That is stepping over the line, way over.

A:  I didn't insinuate that at all.  How could I?  I don't know think 1 about her.

B:  Who drew that line?

WHOA! He's 32 and a virgin? He obviously has some problems. Do you really want to hang out with this guy or have you just become acustomed to this leech? There comes a time to "fish or cut bait". This is a "cut bait" scenario if I've ever heard one.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

Rofl! You guys are really great.

I took this issue up with her and she's disgusted by his behaviour so I'm not really concerned there..

I'm only disappointed and wondering if and when he'll go over the line of pissing me off. I'm a penetant man.

Well, if it does piss her off, and I were you, it would depend on the situation.

If they were subtle hints, I'd have her tell him to go screw.

If they weren't subtle, I'd tell him.

Well if he won't stop this and if he's really serious about it, then I'll have to.

Unfortunately it will mean the end of our friendship aswell. We're currently bound in certain types of financial co-operation which makes the issue even more difficult.

At the time I'm hoping he's only doing this to boost his ego instead of trying to break up my family. If the latter is his aim, I will most certainly kick his ass. I just have to be 100% certain about it before I actually do anything about it.
