Any base that you get within 10k of you have the potential of getting poofy ack whacked, so I'd laugh at your ignorance but that would be cruel.

IMO if you're going to have "Puffy Ack" make it a manable gun battery postition.
You can jump into shore batteries and field guns, why not 88's?
Have 88's {or whatever} used by players, most people can live with getting shot down by another player vs some random AI kill.

Just a thought

Oh really HiTech? I'd be more than happy to send you a flim of me manuvering at 550mph in a 262 and getting ack whacked... better yet, test it out yourself. Go speeding over a strat target in a 262 and watch that ack zero in on you.

I thinks it's the luck of the draw on when or if you get hit by puffy ack.
I have been hit a few times by it and yes it pisses me off.
But on the other hand I think I would have to have a really good reason to fly a perk ride over puffy ack or any ack for that matter.

SA2, I can't help it that I keep you and Jamusta from landing very many kills, both of you have have the unfortunate knack of flying right in front of my gun sights.  :rofl

They are not rams and HO's  SA2 ,   they are front quarter deflection shots.

Perfectly legitimate tactics for the LW, and historically accurate. Furthermore , they are flying undermodelled planes and therefore should not be expected to seek a gun solution anywhere approximating the rear of the opponents plane.

Please do not refer to them as rams and HO's - they are front quarter deflection shots.    (it's just  might seem that you are dodging HO's while they are doing their deflecting)

Why have I only taken a single ping from puffy ack EVER and have never been downed by it?

Is it a connection/bandwith issue? I tend to try to avoid the ack but by previous replys that doesn't seem to work.

Why am I lucky in this regard?

Ermmm, who mentioned HO's?  But since you are here ::pulls out a dollar::  :D

And if you want to get technical about using HO as a tactic, it was used by the Brits during the BoB first.  The LW "acquired" the tactic from them.  Much like they did France.  Matter of fact, there was a quote from a famous LW pilot, spoken as he dove head on into an oncoming B-17, triggers held down and throttle firewalled................

Went something like "YOU WANNA SEE AN HO??  I'LL SHOW YA A HO YOU M***********R".

Or maybe I just heard it in the MA, cant remember.
