Now, if you had said you had 500 hours in a Mustang, I'd call you on it, just like I'm calling him on it.

One thing is for certain. It isn't going to end if he runs away from his claims here.

Once again: P-51 N-number or noseart. Navy F-14 squadron/boat/time frame.

Real simple if he wants to step up to the plate.

I don't have any pride in this. I said I'll apologize for whatever slights he may feel I've given IF this checks out.

All he has to do is type about three lines himself. He shouldn't need you to do it for him.

The fact that straiga is avoiding posting something as simple and commonnly known as the N number or the noseart is not a good sign of his credibility.

What I cant undersytand is whjy golfer is going so far to back him up, you guys must remember all the folks who got burned by believing then rabidly supporting voss claims almost to the bitter end.

Straiga please,

N number:

Noseart:

One other thing too.

I could show you a picture of me standing next to Gunfighter and tell you that Reg had me fly Gunfighter to the New Century airshow for him.

I could tell you that Harry Barr let me fly Barbara Jean to the New Century airshow for him a year later.

I could tell you that Bill Klaers let me fly the B-25 "In The Mood" around SFO bay.

However, none of those statements would be true. A simple phone call to those gentlemen would reveal that.

The truth is I got a ride in Gunfighter, I've met Harry but never even sat in his airplane and I rode in "In The Mood" with Bill that day but got no stick time. (My father did, however.)

They all make good stories though, don't they?

"And as Gunsliner says, some of us remember.."

Heh. You can say that again. This whole affair has been pure deja vu.

And I'm sorry to say it Golfer but your starting to look really stupid for standing up for this guy.  Someone who long ago had the opportunity to easily impress people but instead has chosen to alienate and make a fool of himself.
At this point if he isn't lying he'll still look like a schmuck for having had such a poor display of dysfunctional, antisocial interaction with people here.
Might be a good time to cut yourself free from the situation so you don't get any of the perma-stink on ya.

Toad,  the Yak 9 sure is a great flying plane!

I know beacuse Eddie Anderini let me crawl all over his Yak 9 at his hangar. If i had my camare that day I could prove how well I flew it because I could take a photo of us all in front of it...

;)

You met Eddie Andreini Grun?

Great guy... his wife can really cook too. He checked my brother out aerobatically in the BT-13. He called him "PT Bob" and me "PT John" since we both had PT's.

Eddie's a lot of fun and a really nice guy.

Couple years ago I was in Half Moon Bay with my dad one saturday morning doing our father son bonding type stuff :) and I saw this Yak come in on final!!!!! So naturally we turn around head straight for the airport and the fellows at the airport cafe point me to Eddies hangar.

I just knock on his door, he lets us in and lets me climb all over his Yak and Stearmans for an hour whle we talk bout planes.  Very nice guy and very welcoming.

This has to end somewhere.  You started questioning his P-51 experience.  Say it's prooved.  Not good enough, now you want navy info.  Info on his father next.

Since you're all on a one track mindset here...he's not listed under any of the names you've searched.  In fact, his name hasn't come up in any conversation or bit of evidence yet.  He's also...ready for this...

Flown more than one P-51.  He provided me a name of an owner, one which I didn't know off hand but checked out.  Ferried that airplane to airshows.  I think if you guys had an actual name...you'd go far.  Since you're using names with guys who have no busName of the airplane as well as some fascinating info on that particular airplane.  Will I provide this...not a snowball's chance in hell it's not my info to give.

If you'd swallow whatever pride you've got and try to be civil about this instead of trying to make hime dance for you like a monkey on a hotplate...you might find that the easier road.  Reverse the situation...would you honestly post information like that about yourself here?  I did, but I don't have anything to take.  Nor do I have anything to hide.

I have to get going.

Golfer,

wtf does your name have to do with this?  Nobody called you on any BS.  We, Toad and I, have called Straiga on his claim about the 51 though, and I am adding the Navy pilot to it as well.

Guess what, all I asked for was his last name.  Nothing more.  He chooses to hide, because in my opinion, he is caught in a lie.

This could end so easily with a last name.  HTC could verify that the last name is correct, one simple search, and whammo, no more issues!  Either myself apologising, or Straiga apologising for lying.

Sad that he has turned you into a puppet though.  But, hey, anything for an extra hour though right...

Straiga's first post.

"To be continued
Mjolnir Are you retired or active duty airforce? What did you fly? Im not shure of IRL. My dads ret U.S.A.F. Col he flew in nam 100 mission F-105 with the 12th TFS out of Kadena and 469th TFS in Tailand. His last airplane was the F-111 with the 428th and 442nd out of Nellis. Then he went on to Wing 474th.

Im with Hawaiian Airlines, I just got out of the DC-10 -10s and -30s and now flying B-767-300ERs internationaly based in LAX and commute from Vegas. I started as an eng on L-1011s and then right seat, right seat DC9-51s and B-717s flying inter-Island. Thank god no more Inter-Island nine round trips a day gets old.

Im sorry that i came of like a jerk but some of these wanna bees get to me. Frankly I barely read what you said before I turn into an prettythang sorry. Trying to explain things over the internet is difficult at best trying to get your point across is hard without writting a book.
If you send me your E-mail I will send some photos to you.

Golfer, I retract my Golfer = Straiga = Voss comment.  I don't think that you are either of them, I apologise.

What I do find interesting is the correlation between the increase in Straiga's posts and the decrease in Voss's posts after the "The VOSS CONSPIRACY... fascinating new book" (07-2004) thread was posted.

Flew combat aircraft for the USAF, flew alot in P-51's.  Yet more correlations.  The reason I suspected you is because last time he posted under a shade account to validate what he was saying.

Thrawn, links in that second post don't work. You need the search terms apparently.

Works fine for me, but it may be cached.  First search was for simply User Name "Voss", second is for "Straiga".

Edit:  It should work, they are searches by board IDs.

Try copying and pasting the following in quotes.

500 hours is alot of time to fly in an ultra-rare aircraft like the P-51.  Its also probably over $50,000 worth of fuel and maintenance.

Now I dont want to hurt anyones feelings or make them look bad.  But if a hypothetical person claimed to have an airforce general for a father, a P-51, and 500 hours of flight time, then did not back up the claims, I would say this hypothetical person may not be telling the truth.

I had a friend with narcisistic personality disorder, and thats the kind of claims he would make.

I hope straiga really does have a P-51, maybe he just doesnt want to make all the poor saps like me (who dont have pilots licenses) jealous.

Now my dad, a LT in the airforce auxillary, really did get alot of stick time in a world war II aircraft in the 50s and 60s.  The mighty L-4 Grasshopper.

The current accepted cost per hour is around $1800 - $2600 per hour for maintenance, planned expenses (prop over haul, radiator, engine overhaul, annuals, etc.), insurance, hangar space, and the consumables.

The low ball for 500 hours is:  $900000.00

The high end on those figures is:  $1300000.00

LOL, with those cost levels, and he does not remember the paint scheme, N number, or S/N.

This is looking more and more like a damn fraud by the minute.

He's already been caught in 1 lie.  The general for a Daddy one.  Let's see how many more we find.
