Aviation Lies... Starring Straiga
« on: February 12, 2005, 09:11:45 PM »
This post is dedicated to the lies that Straiga has been caught in so far.

#1  =  My father is a General, no wait, he's a colonel!

Straiga states on 07-02-2003 09:45 AM:

Mjolnir Are you retired or active duty airforce? What did you fly? Im not shure of IRL. My dads ret U.S.A.F. Col he flew in nam 100 mission F-105 with the 12th TFS out of Kadena and 469th TFS in Tailand. His last airplane was the F-111 with the 428th and 442nd out of Nellis. Then he went on to Wing 474th.

Well I just spoke to my dad about this he just laughed. Hes a retired Major General USAF with 1200 hrs F-4 time 106 mission in the F-105 and F-4 over N. Vietnam. He told me on rdy alert they used to start the engines and put the throttles in full burner. After the engines would spool all the way up they would go into burner and release the brakes and get it air. He did the same thing in an F-111.

I don't think that we need another thread for this, there are two on the go right now and it's tough enough to figure where to post between the the two of them.  What's more the other two are still working within the rhelm of possiblities, where theis one might be seen as an out and out personal attack.

It's not an attack.

It is his own words that are used to confront him.

I think the most ... peculiar fact is that Straiga has been around since 2003 and just NOW tells us he's got hours in the P-51 (500 no less!) and the B-17. Now, Straiga doesn't come across as the humble kind of guy ... more like an arrogant know-it-all with an ego that far outstrips his intelligence.

Well I have 0 time in the F-4, but I've seen dozens launch...
amd the brakes come off well before you engage burner.  Just
look for the clouds of black smoke as they
start rolling, then you hear the burners light.

It's been 21 years since I got out, but I remember vaguely a
pilot telling me that the Phantom brakes would not hold the bird
on afterburner.  Not to mention it would be a massive waste of
fuel to light burners without accelerating anyway.

Yup.  Old Navy friend told me that the F4D Skyray was the first of the Navy planes on which the brakes wouldn't hold the plane at full power.  "That moose would just take you down the deck, blow your tires, keep on going" is what I recall him saying.  I'm sure the Phantom had much more power.

If you tell the truth, then there is no need for you to fear being called on what you state.

Straiga made statements, Toad and I called him on it, now he has hidden.

All I ask is that he tells the truth.

Plain and simple.

I mean come on, he's already lied once about his father being a retired general, but oh wait, he's a retired colonel in a nother thread.

Sheesh, wtf is wrong with him to have him lie about his Dad...

A real man would own up and say, yes, I lied, then ya know what, that'd be the end of it.  Instead, he disappears, kinda like someone else.

Own up to the first lie Straiga, and tell the truth about the rest, and I'll drop it.  Until then, I absolutely refuse to.

I think it was "my name is Ynigo Montoya", but don't let that ruin a good story.

" I'm sure the Phantom had much more power."

If the catapult arm is attached it pretty much is enough to keep any plane stationary aftb on or off...
