Sry oldman, just saw the word "deck" and thought it would mean CV deck -not any "deck"... No biggie.

This all reminds me of a guy I once knew who said he was a former Navy Seal.  There was a website that is run by current Navy Seals that posts the name of guys who have lied about being one - his name was there.   Maybe we need one for guys who have lied about real life flying? :D

Bodhi, Storch et al.: the hard thing about the internet is that you can hide behind your keyboard.  If Straiga has truely flown a P-51, or a B-17, I'm sure he can photocopy his log book with his entries and the dates. Every decent pilot has a log book to track flights and hours.  Heck, I'm not even a pilot anymore and I still have a log book kicking around somewhere in my house (I think).

Anyways, ego aside, if someone calls you a liar, pants on fire, it's up to him to put it out. He's gotta prove:

a) He's a pilot with proper classifications to fly these vintage aircraft. Scan of his licence maybe?
b) He can take a single sheet ouf of his log book and email it to anyone.
c) Most important, post pictures of his adventures in these planes.

Seriously, the single biggest proof of anyones experiences, especially in AH, are bragging rights about having flown this and that. Heck, even HiTech has a picture of his P-51 flight on the website (or is it Pyro's)?

Where are Straiga's pictures?  Every male in the world would bring pictures of their trips in aircraft and post them to brag about it.   Apart from the log books, licences, a single picture would shut everyone up.  Even pictures of his dad would be amazing!   For any ego, no big or how bad it is, if Straiga can prove his experiences, kudo's to him.  But letting everyone bash about what 'may be a lie', well, if it was me, I'd be in here with pics, charts, and log books faster than a fat kid on a Mars bar.

So, everyone quiet for a second, let Stragia post his pictures....

Good and well Forkster :D .  What has any of that to do with Ynigo Montoya?  Who, while being a great swordsman, was not really left handed.  (That's why he was smiling)  :D

Yeah, the USAF doesn't use that many boats ;).  The F-4Es
I worked on had 34,000 lbs of thrust at afterburner what trivia you remember>.  I did have a fascinating experience
while standing "road guard" during an afterburner trim.  The
trim pad exhaust crossed a road, so we had to make sure no
vehicles tried crossing while the plane was running.

The air inside my chest vibrated, even with my hands holding
my chest, was a freaky thing to feel.  As an aside, we had to
hook the bird up to a collar using the tail hook to keep the plane
on the pad.  The collar was buried/attached to a huge concrete
pad.

Funny all this...

Never ceases to amaze me how a lot of people act in ways on-line they never even would contemplate irl.

Well, I have probably more than 500 hours stick time in the P-51... in AH. Maybe that's what he meant?

But, I have been inside an airworthy B-17! Ok, it was on the ground but I have a beautiful picture of me manning one of the waist guns. And I once touched a real Bf-109E ;)

There's complete absense of the main person here,,,,,Straiga.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

I wonder why these people make suchs outrageous claims. The guy seems pretty knowledgeable, and if he would  have made a less outrageous claims I bet not many would have doubted him. Then again, maybe these people get their kicks from getting busted.

A picture hogenbor! What a novel idea! Maybe Straiga has a picture of him inside a P-51!  :)

What you guys have to understand is, it is just a game. Some ppl here feel the need to impress others with there skills. I have known Straiga for about two years roughly, he is one of those ppl. You just have to laugh it off. First time I ever flew against Straiga was when he was a knit and I was a Rook, me and my wingy put him, and Bobby down, while flying over USAgirl blasting away at us on the ground in a FLAK. He got so mad he started with the trash talking, which ended up with him telling me how he is a far better pilot than he is. How he is an EX F-14 driver, and EX Top-gun instructor. Now I am just a little flight instructor at a flight school in Atlanta, if these things were true then he would be a far better stick than I could ever hope to be. Thus he won the argument and I just got lucky. I laughed this off becuase in a matter of an hour I sent him down in flames four more times before he got upset and logged.
Fast forward a year, he has now joined rooks, and took most of his squad with him. I fly with them sometimes, and we have become pretty good friends, he told us how he used to work for eastern airlines, and how he is going to be flying for Delta soon. It is just babble. He ended up having his squad break up over this stuff, and I flew with USA Girl and Bobby untill AH2 when they quit.
Point it, there are alot of ppl in AH that like to tell tall tales, just like in real life. Go to any bar and you are sure to find someone there willing to tell you any number of tall tales. You guys just have to let this go. Look past the stupity of it all and move forward. If he plays AH and is an ok stick in the game and is not a compleat ass, then I could care less what he does in real life, or did for that matter.

That sounds reasonable.  I have the most fun with tall tale tellers in here and in bars.  the trick is to move the story along tongue in cheek wise.

Well thats all very good but when he posts and tries to back his statements claiming stick time in various aircraft, then he had best be for real.
Problem is it's looking very unlikely.

In which case he had best stop using a keyboard.

I hate to think how much COAD time HT has lost reading and responding to his posts.

Well I have 0 time in the F-4, but I've seen dozens launch...
amd the brakes come off well before you engage burner. Just
look for the clouds of black smoke as they
start rolling, then you hear the burners light.

It's been 21 years since I got out, but I remember vaguely a
pilot telling me that the Phantom brakes would not hold the bird
on afterburner. Not to mention it would be a massive waste of
fuel to light burners without accelerating anyway.

FWIW, The FB-111 (specifically the A model) could use the brakes to hold the airplane still on the runway while in afterburner.  I've seen many of the 509th BW FB-111A's out of Pease AFB (and local New England airshows) do this everytime they took off.  This was back in the day (early '90's and prior).   One time, I saw an FB-111 hold on the numbers in afterburner for over 1 minute awaiting take-off clearance (Manchester NH, in 1988).  I'll have to dig up the photos from this show.

Most people wouldn't care anything about whether Straiga is a liar or not. Well, I imagine those who are actual F-14 pilots and those who own warbirds might be pissed since those are pretty exclusive 'clubs'.

But he uses his lies as evidence of his expertise (for the most part in irrelevant whines about stupid stuff such as 'AH doesn't model real modern auto pilots'.

Just read his threads.

He will show back up in a few months under a different shade telling tall tales. Just keep an eye out.
