Chigger gauges need resizing
« on: February 19, 2005, 09:04:28 AM »
Frankly I can tell no difference in the 38 gauges with the new patch that was supposed to back light them.
The gauges just need to be resized a tad.
Please, once again, no more itsy bitsy, teen weeny, chigger sized gauges.
OK, OK, before someone posts " just map a zoom of the gauges". That idea works if your doing test flights or you are out for a Sunday afternoon pleasure flight. It does nothing for when you are in the heat of things.

Hmmm...I have no troubles reading the dials at 1024x768 resolution.  They are really crisp and clear at 1600x1200 resolution though.

I was all excited about the new 38s and the 84..then......Rut Roh. Can`t see the teeny weeny things in flight without zooming which is not very practical  when engaged.

Nobody is suggesting Big Ben size here. Just a tad of resizing would do the trick. I don`t see how the instrument panel could interfere with your "airspace" viewing at any rate .

You guys must have seriously ****ed-up eyes. These gauges are *easier* to read than the old bitmapped ones.

You could stop being stubborn and get glasses, if that is what you need. And really, anbody with 20-20 vision can read those gauges quite easily, so I'm assuming that you have bad eyesight.

So it's small mind syndrome, rather than small pupil syndrome? Or is it can't-deal-with-more-realism syndrome?

Realism hasn`t got crap to do with it. I seriously doubt the 38 pilots had any trouble reading the friggen gauges. If you can read em, fine, then carry on . I am one among many who have expressed difficulty in reading the gauges.

You're probably of the same class that ragged on AH2 for changing the original Aces High's uber P-51D flight model.

Of course you might not be, but that's what this whole thing is beginning to sound like. "Make the game easier for me, damnit, or I'm gonna whine like an idiot!"

All I'm saying is that me, and many others, have absolutely no problem reading the new gauges. They're actually *easier* to read than the old Aces High 1-standard gauges.

Look slick, if ya wanna argue take it to the O`club. I`ll be more than happy to oblige.
There is no one whining here. Just stating a fact. BTW it was to HTC as this is supposed to be.
If you are a happy camper, then more power to you. I don`t need to nor do I care one way or another about your sniveling. Have a goodun.

Jackal1, I agree with you, the gauges are harder to read at least in the P38's, not that I spend much time looking at the gages when engaged.

Fruda, your comments are out of line and not really helpful.

There is no need to act like an arse.  Jackal1 has a legitimate complaint about the dials.  The dials in the new re-worked planes are kind of hard to read at some resolutions such as at 1024x768.  Not all systems can run the game with decent FPS at 1600x1200 resolution where the dials are crisp and easy to read.
